It's being reported, just not by the usual leftwing suspects. The insinuation is that Republicans are dirty, too, and that's why Ryan/etc are trying to thwart The Donald - if that rock gets kicked over, it's going to expose all kinds of creepy crawlies. It was also pondered by - Rush? Phil Valentine? One of 'em - that the GOP is in collusion with the Dems to disable Trump because of this very situation, and they are behind the leaks to the press and assorted negative rumors.

We do know that John McCain was desperately trying to dig dirt on Trump. His role in the fake Russian dossier was never disputed...it just died.

And we talk about corrupt government in other countries. Sheesh.

Senator John McCain admits handing Donald Trump-Russia dossier to FBI

The long-time critic of the Republican leader was reportedly made aware of claims by a former British diplomat posted in Moscow

The Arizona senator confirmed on Wednesday that he passed on the information after not being able to make a judgement on its accuracy.

“Late last year, I received sensitive information that has since been made public. Upon examination of the contents, and unable to make a judgement about their accuracy, I delivered the information to the Director of the FBI,” he wrote in a statement to clarify his involvement in the scandal.

"Late last year, I received sensitive information that has since been made public," McCain said. "Upon examination of the contents, and unable to make a judgment about their accuracy, I delivered the information to the director of the FBI. That has been the extent of my contact with the FBI or any other government agency regarding this issue."

As The Washington Examiner notes, reports surfaced Tuesday night that a foreign contact of McCain's passed along the report detailing alleged compromising information the Russian government has on Trump. That report was published in full by Buzzfeed Tuesday evening, despite being unverified information.

As the Mail adds, Carl Bernstein, the Watergate reporter who contributed to the first story about its existence, suggested that McCain was handed it by a former British ambassador to Moscow.

Bernstein told CNN: 'It came from a former British MI6 agent who was hired from a political opposition research firm in Washington who was doing work about Donald Trump for both republican and democratic candidates opposed to Trump.

'They were looking at Trumps business ties, they saw some questionable things about Russians, about his businesses in Russia, they in turn hired this MI6 former investigator, he then came up with additional information from his Russian sources, he was very concerned by the implications of it, he then took it to an FBI colleague that he had known in his undercover work for years, he took it to this FBI man in Rome who turned it over to the bureau in Washington in August.

'And then, a former British ambassador to Russia independently was made aware of these findings and he took the information to John McCain – Senator John McCain of Arizona – in the period just after the election, and showed it to McCain – additional findings.

The FISA court is supposed to be looking over the NSA. Found out what they were doing 6 years ago, but the NSA never changed anything.

This agency (among others) is simply a product of a electorate willing to give up their privacy for security. Anyone who believes Snowden should have gone through proper channels and the same info would have come out is smoking some good ####.

Snowden's work revealed this sort of governmental unconstitutional overreach years ago.

Also, as pointed out in the video, the section (702) mentioned is up for re-authorization at the end of this year.

If the GOP maintains a majority by then, and it's re-authorized, it's no longer the fault of Obama and time for a good hard look in the mirror for anyone who values privacy and the 4th Amendment and votes Republican.
