DID YOU KNOW that Jack Daniel's is the top selling American whiskey in the world? Jack Daniel's distillery began producing in 1866 (or 1875, depending who you ask). And yes, there really was a Jack Daniel - he started out as a moonshiner's apprentice as a teenager. Fun fact: Moore County in Tennessee, where Jack Daniel's is produced, is a dry county, so you cannot purchase it in any store or restaurant. Another fun fact: Jack Daniel died because he forgot his safe's combination and couldn't get it open; in frustration he kicked the safe, injuring his toe, which became infected to the point that his leg had to be amputated. He died of complications from gangrene.
