Will Nancy Pelosi Survive...

“Keeping our (House) leadership team completely unchanged,” Democrat Rep. Tim Ryan of Ohio warned last November, “will simply lead to more disappointment in future elections.”

Democrats lost four straight special House elections this year with ex-Speaker Nancy Pelosi at the party helm. In fact, one could argue that Pelosi and her baggage helped fuel the surprisingly easy victory of the GOP’s Karen Handel in Georgia Tuesday. GOP ads there tied Handel’s opponent to Pelosi and her “San Francisco values.”

That theme probably seems strange to the elite inside the Washington Beltway. But in flyover country like Iowa, where President Trump visited last evening, it rings long and loud like Quasimodo’s bells.

Fully one-third of Pelosi’s 193 House Democrats now come from just three states, the usual liberal suspects of California, New York and Massachusetts, not the crucial Heartland. Pelosi’s entire leadership team is also coastal, and like her, linger on in their mid-70s.

Pelosi is only a cog in the politics of combative hatred and divisiveness wheel. Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid...Hillary Clinton. That's been their only message for the last generation: "We hate Republicans and we hate middle America. They are our enemies and we will destroy them."

Whoever's idea it was to use that as a political strategy was brilliant in the short term, and stupider than chit in the long.

I sincerely hope Pelosi survives this latest challenge and remains the minority leader.

What's surprising, in the article I read, is that many of those Dem members angry with the leadership want, "a sharper progressive message and more pointed attacks on Republicans and Trump...." Talk about doubling down on stupid.

I think if any Democrat bitches about Trump's speaking style (or lack thereof), they shouldn't ignore Pelosi. Some conversations make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Speaking of doubling down on stupid by Dems..I keep seeing various Dem talking heads clamoring for the focus of the party to pivot, and soon, from "Russians, Russians, Russians!" to "the economy and jobs". I about fell out of my chair. Whadda they going to point to other than Illinois, California, New York and the like??? You know..the batch of Democratically run soon-to-be-just-like-Venezuala states. Or maybe the longest/slowest/weakest economic recovery in our nation's history?

I get that, and there's value to having piss-poor opposition when trying to get good ideas out (less-than optimal opposing thoughts). But, to be fair, she's representing (as a Dem Leader) a large number of people; she represents real American citizens. I'd like to see those people represented by someone intelligent and non-corrupt enough to voice the valid arguments of their side.

I'd really like to see the money she takes from taxpayers go to someone who earns it.

She represents Kalifornia and you want to see intelligence and valid arguments.?

Think again.

More than just Pelosi are responsible for the Democrats exodus from local, state and national level offices. Lump Hoyer, Waters, Franken and Chuck in there too.

If Pelosi and company are dusted out of their positions and replaced with some far, far, far>>>>>>>>>>>>>> more moderate than the current leadership, that could change where the mid-terms go. They might actually capture the Senate back and come close on the House.

Lets hope they keep them.

Correction: she represents San Francisco. She is a district representative, not a state one. This is an important distinction because she has WAY! too much power for someone who represents a fringe element. Maxine Waters, same thing. Not that Kamala and Dianne are any different, nor was my second most hated woman in the world Barbara Boxer, but at least they were decisively voted in by the whole state. PS, when Kamala Harris won, there wasn't even a Republican on the ballot - her opponent was Loretta Sanchez, who is a Democrat as well. Dianne spanked the living chit out of her Republican opponent in 2016.

Which doesn't mean anything and I just negated my own initial argument. :jet:

See, this presumes that the Republicans aren't a pack of ####bag liars, and let me assure you that they are. Paul Ryan is such a little bitch I don't see how anyone can even talk to him without wanting to punch his face. Mitch McConnell is a nonentity. The next to last thing I want is those two clowns running the show. I voted for Donald Trump, NOT "the Republicans". In fact, the more Republicans who jumped on the bashwagon - John McCain, I'm talking to you; you too, Mitt Romney - the more supportive of Trump I became.

Our own Larry Hogan lost me when he prissed up and banged with the GOP gang in renouncing Trump. That showed me that he's just as big a ####bag as the rest of them. If he doesn't wise up, he will be a one-term just like Ehrlich was.

I wasn't presuming that at all! :lmao:

BTW... Hogan IS one term.

For me, when he didn't do anything to fix MDs CCW denials, the 2013 Bans and at least propose something to get MD's socialism spending and income taxes tamped down a bit, it was done.

She may have been elected from the San Francisco District, but she represents Kalifornia.
In fact although she is only one she represents the Democrat party.
The whole party including our friend Steny Hoyer have their heads up her senile old ass.
When she says jump------------------------------they jump./
