You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer. -Frank Zappa

See, as a citizen I rarely have a reason to care what is in the government's "best interest." I am far more concerned with what is in the "best interest" of the citizen, and what authorities the government has.

Can you provide me with the constitutional authority (meaning, where does the constitution provide the government the authority) to prohibit one citizen from rejecting another citizen's request for work?

The same is true for this baker. How did the baker know that the cake request was for a same-sex wedding? If the partners simply asked for a cake without specifying in some way what it was for, and thus involving the baker in the ceremony, this would never have been an issue.

So you are saying the gay couple only need hide their gayness and everything would be fine? Should black customers have their white friends buy cakes for them ? Should latinos have someone else call in their order on not show their faces? What is wrong with you?

I see the point being made here...it's likely that the couple's proclivities were abundantly clear, anyway.
Kind of like how Sappy says he's intelligent and open-minded, but he can't hide his true colors behind that facade in this forum, where you'd think that's where one could mislead others!
Some folks just need a high-five. Some just need a high-five to the face.

I will answer all four of those questions if you provide me with the constitutional authority (meaning, where does the constitution provide the government the authority) to prohibit one citizen from rejecting another citizen's request for work.
There are only two possibilities; one is that we are alone in the universe, the other is that we are not.
    Both are terrifying.

You've asked that biased questions based on your flawed belief that the government should not regulate peoples lives by telling them who to "work for" as you so biasedly put it..

The law in question in this case is the public accommodation law with the judges have ruled applies to gay people in this circumstance.

So although you state it as the reverse to further you case " force someone to work against their will "the Public accommodation law does just that if that is how you want to interpret it. Though the true interpretation without your "all men are free idiocy" is the assurance that " all men are treated equally.

Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 defines public accommodations as a limited number of facilities which are open to the public. Examples include hotels, motels, restaurants, theaters, and all other public accommodations engaged in interstate commerce; exempted private clubs without defining the term "private"

Easy solution for the bakery's is to work exclusively through selected local churches.

Wedding cakes can only be arranged through that venue. No walk-in wedding cake orders.

That will restrict your clientele... And its legal.
