"It's For Diversity"

We've all seen it. Public housing. It doesn't matter where you put it, it brings down the value of the homes around it, it doesn't help the poor get richer, crime increases. The argument that it's good for everyone is so much bs. If dropping poor people in the middle of better neighborhoods had ever done any good for anyone, people would not bail on homes they've lived in most of their lives, and we would have fewer poor people.

Why would ANYONE think that the purpose of public housing served anything except to have a place for low income persons to live?

What were you trying to point out with those links? When you compare houses of a similar size and features they seem to be the same price in all three of your locations.

I would also note that the area next to the Section 8 housing outside of Gate 3 actually has very good statistics on crimereports.com compared to the rest of the park. And I believe Westbury is generally pretty good as long as you stay away from the south section right next to Great Mills Road, but that could be said of any housing next to Great Mills Road.

Thats similar houses in shared subdivisions lag in price anywhere from 10-20k less.
