The Charlie Gard situation:

June 30: Pope Francis

@Pontifex

To defend human life, above all when it is wounded by illness, is a duty of love that God entrusts to all.

June 30: Yet the Vatican: Read paragraph 3 of the article (I was unable to cut and paste)

Who is in control @ the Vatican? Surely not the popester.

What side of the fence is the Vatican on? Life above all, or let socialized medicine, governments, and their laws determine what life is worth?

The parents have the money to transfer the baby to a US hospital and doctors that are willing to treat this child. two of the previous 15 children with this incredibly rare disease have survived to 5 and 10 years old, and are doing well. That is pretty good odds for an "incurable" disease.

Socialized medicine and society. People die under that system, and too many times on purpose. Especially those who have no say in their situation.

Who will bear the cost of keeping this bag of jello alive?
When does the mercy rule kick in?
The machines should have been unplugged weeks ago.

They have the money, at no cost to tax payers. Not real difficult to understand that, is it?

Who do you think up until the GoFundMe has been paying for it...
If the jello bag is flown here, once that million is gone who do you think will be on the hook for the rest of the bill?
So say they do have the money, when does the mercy rule kick in for you?
How long do you keep a bag of jello alive, until the money runs out?
