The Email

WASHINGTON — Before arranging a meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer he believed would offer him compromising information about Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump Jr. was informed in an email that the material was part of a Russian government effort to aid his father’s candidacy, according to three people with knowledge of the email.
[clip]
There is no evidence to suggest that the promised damaging information was related to Russian government computer hacking that led to the release of thousands of Democratic National Committee emails. The meeting took place less than a week before it was widely reported that Russian hackers had infiltrated the committee’s servers.

But the email is likely to be of keen interest to the Justice Department and congressional investigators, who are examining whether any of President Trump’s associates colluded with the Russian government to disrupt last year’s election. American intelligence agencies have determined that the Russian government tried to sway the election in favor of Mr. Trump.

Even if all the Times’ allegations are true, that doesn’t mean that Don Jr. broke the law. Jonathan Turley of George Washington University School of Law stated:

There is no crime in listening to people who say that they have incriminating information on a political opponent, even a foreigner. … If notice of a possible crime or information is now deemed as thing of tangible value under federal campaign laws, the wide array of exchanges on behalf of campaign would be implicated. Indeed, major free speech and association issues would be raised. Once again, this is a matter that is worthy of investigation. However, these possible criminal charges are radically over-extended on the facts that we currently have.

The legal case against Trump Jr. is weak tea. But that doesn’t mean that the Democrats and the media will rest. They now believe they have a smoking gun showing an attempt — even if it was unsuccessful — at collusion. They hope that more will be uncovered in the near future. At the very least, they have another month of headlines with which to distract President Trump.

This whole Russian scam has been weak tea from the beginning, with the Hillary lovers drinking it faster than a tidal wave coming in.

Why is it when a foreign government actively supports a Democrat candidate, that's considered a good thing; but when one supports a Republican, the dumbasses scream about "collusion"?

Have you been sleeping? Hillary sold Uranium to the Russians. Bill took $500,000 dollar speaking engagement,Money was given to the Clinton Foundation.
Nothing was said, it was cool, just Jim Dandy. She took thousands from George Soros our friendly Nazi Dem supporter, all considered a good thing.,
No screams of collusion.
Trump uses Russian Dressing on his salad and he is outed by the media screaming collusion, he ate his New York strip well done abusing a good steak.
And then CNN says they are just reporting the news and aren't spreading fake news.

Helen Keller can see what is going on.
To top it off it is my opinion that most of those against Trump actually believe that if they can get rid of him they can put Hillary in his place.
I think they are actually that stupid.

"We" do, do "we"?

First of all, dumba$$, he didn't meet with any government official, he met with an attorney - who told him she had info for him regarding HC. She gave him no information. He left.

If he's gonna be in the hot seat for anything here, it should be for not taking the opportunity provided by the meeting to demand we get our Uranium back.

I don't believe for one second that you care about the well being of our country. Because if you do, and still want to drink HC's bathwater, then you are the one who is certifiably batsh*t crazy, Sappy.

An attorney representing Russia idiot. So what? He attempted to collude with a Foreign government agent. So now because he didn't get the info it wasn't attempted collusion? So when someone tries to break in somewhere and fails they aren't guilty of attempting to break the law?

Didn't you stop to think he might have been being setup? Isn't it suspicious they asked for a meeting then didn't give him the info? This is why they ask that these things be disclosed so they can know if you have potentially been set up or are a risk to national security. But he failed to disclose this info and denied it all along until he was caught.

I can't believe you people are defending this. You really will stop at nothing to to defend this scum at the cost of our country.

And to the other stupid poster he only released the emails because the Times called him for comment and told him they were about to publish them. He tried to save his skin.

Nope. Not exactly, because collusion refers to price fixing; and nobody [yet] is saying that Trump is guilty of price fixing.

Now, for President Trump to be charged with Criminal Conspiracy, there will have to be evidence. And that's going to be hard with the Liberals crying foul over "hacking", because it’s not a crime for a foreign country to hack a database. The United States does it all the time.

But let’s suppose it IS a crime to hack the DNC database - now they have to prove that Russia did the hack, AND that Trump entered into a criminal conspiracy to do so. With enough proof, you can then get him for both the crime, and the conspiracy. But it requires evidence.

According to Alan Dershowitz: "you can be assured that any investigation will go through the DNC server. The server has never been forensically examined, because the DNC did not give permission for it to be examined. Now that Mueller is on the case, they cannot refuse; he will subpoena it and they must give it up. If they have wiped it in the meantime (and that’s the rumor), the investigation will stop dead, because you probably cannot have a criminal conspiracy if you cannot prove the underlying crime. And that is assuming the statute [that it's a crime to hack the DNC server] applies"

Are you insane?

That is an honest question.

I don't agree with much of what you post usually but the entire post above is actual insanity.

Collusion has nothing to do with price fixing unless you are talking about business owners colluding to set prices in a particular market.

You realize there are other types of collusion don't you?

And the DNC server stuff is more insanity. I'm not sure what you are reading that makes you think any of what you wrote but it is wrong. I don't even think you understand what you are trying to say.

Meeting with a foreign agent to influence the US election is certainly attempted collusion. Whether it is enough to prosecute is another matter.

Also repeatedly denying having any contact and claiming the same on your security clearance forms then being able to produce your own emails refuting that moments after The NY Times tells you they are going public with the information is extremely damning evidence that you were aware what you are doing could be seen as collusion.

Let me see, do I consider your opinions or listen to Mr. Dershowitz, American lawyer, jurist, and author, as well as prominent scholar on United States constitutional law and criminal law, and leading defender of civil liberties?

Yep. If that's "insane", I'm your girl, boo.

P.S. Look up "Collusion" in Wikipedia. Read it. Read it again.
