Al Gore Likens the Climate Change Movement to Campaign Ending Slavery

Former Vice President Al Gore compared the fight to end man-made global warming to the abolishment of slavery and the push for gay marriage.

“The abolition of slavery, woman’s suffrage … and more recently the gay rights movement,” Gore said Thursday about the importance of staying ahead of the curve on environmental issues.

Gore has made similar comments in the past. He told reporters in 2013 that so-called climate change “deniers” are like alcoholic fathers who act belligerently when someone mentions the issue.

“It’s like a family with an alcoholic father who flies into a rage every time a subject is mentioned and so everybody avoids the elephant in the room to keep the peace,” he said at the time. The former vice president is in Australia promoting “An Inconvenient Sequel,” the follow-up to his 2006 “An Inconvenient Truth.”

Gore’s first film contains several lofty claims about the dire consequences of not addressing climate change.

“Unless we take drastic measures, the world would reach a point of no return within 10 years,” which Gore said in the film would precipitate a “true planetary crisis” due to man-made global warming.

You want to convince me you're serious, divest yourself of all of your green energy stocks.

Al Gore talks a lot of chit , but he doesn't live the life. He is much more wasteful the the ordinary person.
When he live in one small house with solar power, and stops flying around in private jets, maybe he will gain some credibility

Yeah, I didn't want to add a laundry list to my response. It's kind of like J.K. Rowling complaining about not taking in refugees while living in a 10K square foot mansion by herself.

That crazy person was our Vice-President - a heartbeat away from the Presidency, as they say. In fact, he was even closer than most VPs because of Willie Jeff's impeachment and the veryclose 2000 election.

That insane man was almost our President.

That is chilling to me.

Bullcrap. He doesn't believe any of that for one minute. He's a shyster and snake oil salesman trying to make a buck off the ignorant masses. He is Jim Jones. He is David Miscavige. Gore knows damn well that his narrative is a fraud, but he also knows that if these dumbass cult members don't follow him, they'll just follow someone else. If somebody's going to make money off these idiots, why shouldn't it be him?

Kind of think you're right, but only because --

He started his whole Earth in the Balance/Climate change thing back in 92 - and some of his pics and suppositions in that book were wildly inaccurate.
So he DOES know by now - it's not on the level.

But what I hate about this is - if a man were against slavery - you'd think the minimum he would do would be to free his own slaves, right?
He would INSIST that people in his sphere of influence and his family and associates - ALSO free theirs, right?

When it comes to climate change - he does NONE of this. He preaches about it, but the most he does is pay money for carbon credits.
An actual believer would do their level best to make sure they weren't polluting the planet more. He just pays money so someone ELSE can clean the planet for him.

According to Google Alk Gore pays for the Carbon Credits to his own company. GIM . a Company run by David Blood. his partner.
They tell this sad story of the earth dying to try to convince others to pay into it also. So Gore has a financial bias to his stories.
GIM invests this money they have received in "Green Companies, that are having trouble making it, they lost a ton of money in their investments.
Trump sure isn't helping them by not going along with their BS.

Between May of 2008 and October of 2009 the CCX market value for one metric ton of carbon plummeted from $7 per metric ton to $0.10 along with the shareholders’ investment values. Losers included the Ford Motor Company, Amtrak, DuPont, Dow Corning, American Electric Power, International Paper, and Waste Management, along with the states of Illinois and New Mexico, seven cities, and a number of universities.

It's easy to see why he ignores the truth. It gets into his pocket.
