Since the Dems have failed us, and now the Repubs, it is time for true change in the next elections. I am considering changing to Liberatrian, or unaffiliated. So sick of our government. I worry about the future of my children, and grandchildren, and beyond. Our gov is a joke. The Obamacare reform that didn't happen did me in. I am mad as hell, and can't take it anymore. What a bunch of bull crap. Oh, and yeah, we are one of those middle class families that are sufferering under Obamacare. That's all.

So, how do you know about my financial stability. I never said we won't be ok. I said that Obamacare, basically, screwed the middle class. Socialism, and all. And, it is none of your biz, but hub retired early because USBank has lost their minds; no rhyme or reason. It was taking a toll on his usually healthy self. So, he said screw y'all and retired early. Thanks for your concern. My point about this thread is that Obmacare screwed everybody that is a working citizen. Our wonderful politicals in WDC don't even include themselves in Obamacare. Don't you find that odd? One more thing, don't ever again even try to presume that you know about my life. You missed my point completely. I am not worried about me and hub; like I said in my OP, I am worried about my progeny. You are such a dope. Why don't you change your avatar to just letting your thang hang out. That is how you come across. And, please tell me how we just took a loss on our house in Calvert to the tune of 200,000 because of the slow housing market recovery there, but bought a new house in Montgomery for 600,000. Awaiting your reply, all knowing one. :loser:

And, the reason we are where we are today is because my hub is a numbers guy; a human calculator (no need for a calculator) and knew how to invest. He is awesome. Oorah!

And, one more thing. What does poor financial decisions have to do with Obamacare? If you have families struggling financially, and then plop Obamacare on top of them, how do they survive? Do you see the reason for my thread now? Probably not, because all you do is go after me in a derogatory way, no matter what I post. Happy foruming!

beach.jpg The reason I posted this thread is because after listening to the news today, hub said to me 'socialism has officially come to the United States'. We don't get that. Again, it won't affect us, but it will affect the generations that we will leave behind. Just awful, and so sad. Whatever happened to our country? Our Founding Fathers have spun so much in their graves, there is nothing left of them. Our country has become a cesspool. God bless, America.

Speaking of cesspools. I recommend that no one move to Montgomery County. English has become a second language here. :boo:

We moved here because of our first grandchild, Emerson. Just found out today that dot is preg with a boy, Luke Joseph. Life is good. Just for fun, here is Emerson again.

But, the look on Emmy's face is like 'what is my future?'

Who is the Federalist Party?

When the dust settles and party leadership is fully vetted and fleshed out, we’ll publish a transparent “About Us” page that details everything one would need to know about the people behind this party. It’s a low priority at this time because the reality is this: YOU are the Federalist Party.

If you’re frustrated by the ever-expanding federal government accumulating power while keeping state and local governments in check, you’re looking for the Federalist party.
If you see the corruption in Washington DC and realize that the vast majority of politicians are in it for themselves, you’re ready for the Federalist Party.
If the ongoing leftward lurch by both major parties makes you feel like you no longer have a political home, you’ve found one with the Federalist Party.
If you’ve already broken free from the two-party system only to find ineptitude and failure practiced by other third parties, you’ll find something completely different with the Federalist Party.
If you’re an American patriot who believes in life, freedom, and a balance of power between the state and federal governments, it’s time for your to join us.

Exactly how is this making you suffer? According to your posts, money is not an obstacle, so where's the problem?

Money is not an obstacle, but it is not growing on the trees in our yard. Ever since, Obamacare, even huge companies like USBank that used to have great insurance, had sucky insurance. It was like not having insurance at all. Much higher premiums, and huge deductibles. Might as well have put our money on the back of the pick up and let it fly out driving down the highway. But, it seems the degenerates that don't work get insurance for free. Maybe, I didn't make myself clear in my OP. I am worried about my children, grandchildren, and future generations living in a socialist country which the US will be if things don't change. Thanks for the feedback.

Interesting. Thanks.

The strong showing H. Ross Perot had and the fact that Trump won tells me we can have an outsider as president. Trump did not remain an outsider for long, but it was a good start.

I don't like that Rand Paul acts like a libertarian but runs as a republican. Same with his dad. I don't like Cruz's smarmyness. I do not like D in R clothing, like (well, the list is too long). If Trey Gowdy or Mike Lee would run, I would vote for them (if I was a D, I could vote three or four times for EACH).

It's time to start getting fresh blood into the states, then work their way up. It's time to repeal the 17th amendment, it's time to stop gerrymandering, it's time to pay attention to the state and local level politics, it's time for a federal balanced budget amendment, term limits, lobbying limits, repeal of state election laws that favor D's, R's, and incumbents over "outside" parties.

I see none of that happening in my lifetime, and I'm afraid for my grandbaby as well.

I think several of them, the Pauls included, do so to get national financial support. The Libertarian Party just doesn't seem to get the exposure and the only thing that would help is money.

If the leadership had focused on local, county and state offices back in the 80s the party would probably be viable at the national level by now.

Our wonderful politicals in WDC don't even include themselves in Obamacare. Don't you find that odd?

Actually, that is not entirely true. The vast majority of Congressional members and staffers get their insurance through the DC Health Link’s “Gold Tier”. DC’s Obamacare Exchange. If a member or staffer purchases insurance elsewhere, they forgo the 75% employer subsidy which is based on a weighted average of the FEHB plan premiums. Some members choose to buy insurance through their home state’s exchange or the state’s federal exchange but, in these cases, they don’t get the employer subsidy.

Is this the same as the Constitution Party?

Is this the same as the Constitution Party?

No, completely different (same ideals, two parties).

Constitution Party

Constitution Party Three Pillars said:
Pillar One – INTEGRITY

We are committed to restoring honesty, integrity, and accountability to government.

Do you laugh when you hear a politician say that they are a person of honesty and integrity?

Do you disbelieve just about every promise that political candidates make when running for office?

Do you think that this is the proper relationship between the people and their elected officials?

The Constitution Party solemnly makes this promise to you:

We will hold all our party officers and leaders strictly accountable for their conduct. They will be held to the highest ethical standards in dealing with the public, donors, government officials, and candidates. Corrupt candidates come from corrupt parties. Honest and honorable candidates can only come from a party that insists that all its leaders have the same characteristics.

When interviewing potential candidates, a history and reputation of their character, integrity, and commitment to honesty will be just as important as their commitment to Constitution Party principles.

We will only be seeking candidates that accept and recognize that all elected officials are Public Servants. We are seeking Representatives, not Rulers.

Most importantly, Constitution Party candidates will be strongly encouraged to sign a contract with the voters that lists the campaign promises that they will guarantee to accomplish while in office or face consequences.

WHY A CONTRACT? When you deal with businesses and people that you do not know, the contract is the instrument that we use to ensure that both parties will keep their promises. Our politicians have shown that they cannot be trusted with their promises and we are not going to ask you to trust us. We will EARN IT by signing a contract that specifically lists the promises that our candidate makes and requires them to keep them.

The Constitution of the United States is a contract between the government and the people. Why should candidates be exempted from a contract?

Pillar Two – LIBERTY

We feel that: “Government is the most ineffective, inefficient, and most expensive way to get anything done.” As such, we are offering innovative and effective non-government solutions to the country’s social spending issues.

Are you tired of government spending trillions of dollars on social issues and the problem seems to be getting worse?

Do you think that we should SOLVE the issues of poverty, hunger, and homelessness instead of just FUNDING them?

Do you feel that most of the money that is taken from you for social spending is just ending up in the pockets of government bureaucrats and organizations that donate heavily to politicians?

The Constitution Party boldly declares to America that:

The Federal Government should only be involved in government roles as outlined in the Constitution. The best government is local government.

As a society, we should be solving social spending issues via non-government organizations that want to SOLVE the problem, not just FUND the problem. We should seek out those organizations that have the best solutions.

The solution is to slowly and responsibly transition America from ineffective government programs to effective non-government institutions. Our solution will ensure that recipients of current government programs are still cared for but allows for more effective solutions to be implemented.

The solution is not to simply cut funding and abandon those that need our help. Instead, we need to responsibly ensure that we fulfill our social responsibilities to take care of those in need. We also need to work on SOLVING the problems and coming up with innovative programs that will help restore American families to being productive citizens that are self-sufficient and able to pursue the happiness that America offers to all.

GOVERNMENT HAS HAD PLENTY OF TIME AND PLENTY OF MONEY. THEY HAVE PROVEN THAT THEY ARE NOT EFFECTIVE IN RESOLVING THESE COMPLEX ISSUES. IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE.

Pillar Three – PROSPERITY

We want to create the greatest economy for the U.S. that the world has ever seen. We will do so by restoring True Capitalist (vice Crony Capitalist) principles to our economic policies.

Are you aware that over 50% of all small businesses will fail within 3 years and that only 33% of all businesses can make it to 10 years?

Does that sound like a country of prosperity and opportunity to you?

Did you know that government involvement in business is listed as one of the largest factors for these failures?

Did you know that Small Businesses make up 99.7% of the businesses in the United States yet share a higher tax burden than the large corporations that make up the 0.3%?

IS THIS FAIR? IS THIS RIGHT? IS THIS HEALTHY FOR OUR ECONOMY?

The Constitution Party believes:

That Small Businesses, not large corporations, are the key to a healthy economy.

That True Capitalism is achieved by allowing strong competition among companies. In order to have the best pricing, the best products, and the best services, you need to ensure that every company has an even playing field and can fairly compete for our business.

That job creation comes from business creation and growth. Removal of restrictive government regulation, fees, and taxes combined with responsible trade agreements with foreign governments will ensure massive business and job growth.

It is both dangerous and illogical to think that we can have a sustainable economy without having manufacturing in our country. We need to start producing the products that we use if we want jobs and economic security.

TRUE CAPITALISM REJECTS RESTRICTIVE GOVERNMENT TAXATION AND OVER REGULATION OF BUSINESSES. GOVERNMENT SHOULD ONLY BE INVOLVED TO KEEP THINGS FAIR, KEEP US SAFE, AND PREVENT CRIMINAL ACTIVITY. BUSINESSES CANNOT BE THE GOVERNMENT PIGGY BANK FOR SUPPORTING UNCONTROLLED SPENDING HABITS.

Our candidates will:

Work at the federal, state, and (most importantly) at the local level to remove the strangling grip of government taxes, fees, unneeded regulations, and intrusion.

Restore True Capitalist laws and regulations which promote competition, job creation, clean manufacturing, new technologies, and WEALTH.

Note, The Constitution Party is a .com website, the Federalist party is a .org website. That used to be the difference between for-profit/commercial and non-profit organizations. It's not true to be exclusively that anymore, but it makes me thing of a general philosophy of the people building the websites from the very beginning of logging on to them.

Buuuuuut... if two different parties with the same ideals, aren't they diluting any potential power they might have?

In MHO the mistake the Republicans are making is trying to replace Obamacare. It was created as a way to get the middle class to pay for insurance for everyone else. Just do away with it. People were not left dying on the doorsteps of hospitals prior to it becoming law and they will not die on those doorsteps if it were to be repealed!
