House and Senate Approve Russia Sanctions

Well at least everyone can agree on some things. Like Trump can't be trusted to make decisions in our countries best interest regarding Russia.

I'm sure Trump is going to go into another unhinged tweet storm over this one.

Should be interesting to see if he tries to Veto or will he allow them to handcuff him?

You are the one who is unhinged, and part of the populous that put US in the situation WE are in today. Are you ok with Obama's Iran deal; not to mention his Cuban party fest? Really? If JFK was alive today, he would not indentify with the Dem party. Don't you find it horrific that he and his bro, Bobby, were assassnated. Too much of a coincidence. There was a reason for that. It is because of liberal progressives like LBJ; who I think was behind it all. Are you really happy with the state of Our Country?

As far as tweet storms (I am not a member of that). I just see what is reported. At least, Trump is being transparent. That is a good thing, right? Obama didn't have the balls to be transparent, and he wore flip flops. Why? Because he was/is a puppet of the socialist groupies of the world. He is a lying, anti-American supported by libprog robots. Period. If you think that Dems have YOUR best interest at heart, you need to reaccess. Get a grip; so to speak. You are a hoot. :killingme: Oh, and you are welcome.

I will never forget the day JFK died. I was eight. I got off the school bus and walked in the house and my parents were crying. Never saw that before; they never cried. They were staunch Repubs, and now that I am old, and get it, I understand why they were crying.

JFK is spinning in his grave. Sad state of affairs. I like to think that if he was alive, he would still be saying go USA, and probably would have been at Trump rallies and speeches, and dumped the Dem party. In other words, the Dem Party died wth JFK, and then became something horrific that is killing America.

The question is : Why are they sanctioning Russia.?

Nothing has been proven that Russia had anything to do with interfering in our elections.
If Russia actually did have anything to do in our elections, is that anything we haven't done in the elections of other countries?
Is it wrong for another country to have a favorite that they want elected?
Lets talk foreign money.Who received foreign money from the Russians? Must I say Hillary?
How much foreign money did Obama get in his election? Not to mention money from the Nazi --Soros.
IMO the Republicans who voted for these sanctions just ####ed Trump and America in the azz again. Something they seem to enjoy doing.

I don't even know where to start with this string of insanity.

Why don't you explain it all to us then Mo.

Trump now faces an awkward dilemma: veto the legislation and endure the humiliation of seeing Congress — controlled by his own party — override him with ease, as lawmakers in both parties have pledged to do. Or sign the legislation and endure the humiliation of agreeing to a bill that his administration lobbied against in its bid to cling to a key bargaining chip in negotiations with Russia.

The sanctions have to do with Russians' annexation of Crimea in 2014. They won't leave Crimea alone. Our sanctions will freeze Russian assets (banking) in the US. They won't be able to get to their money. They've had plenty of time to pull out of Crimea and haven't done it; they probably never would. already sanctioned them in December for their involvement in the DNC and hacking in general, to include the election.
Russia has already retaliated; they're taking the property we bought and getting our ppl's numbers in the US embassy reduced. And they're not done.

Sounds sort of akin to trying to cut the budget by banning Trans people and saving $8 million in a $6 billion budget

You really will say anything to defend trump won't you?

Where do you want anyone to go with this, Sapidus? Seriously.
One has literally nothing to do with the other. Unless you can explain what a military Trans Ban has to do with Russian sanctions? Or maybe explain how you see my post as defense of a man when it is actually a factual account of the ongoing issues between Russia and our country?
Or is it that you will really post anything in attack towards President Trump?

The latter.

Do you not understand a comparison?

You said

*those focusing on election interference (i.e. Sapidus) are akin to someone patting themselves on the back for plugging one hole in a leaking dyke full of bigger holes"

I said it was akin to someone patting themselves on the back for saving $8 million out of $6 billion which is exactly what many Trump supporters are doing with this Trans ban.

Additionally both the house and senate almost unanimously agreed to pass these sanctions into law despite Trump disapproving, signaling that they don't trust him to act in our countries best interest and not in Russia's.

Your comparison is pitting apples to avocados.

Consider for more than two seconds that Trump sees the repercussions of the sanctions if Putin's retaliation includes crippling us financially. I think that Pres. Trump sees that the sanctions are the right thing to do (and he did sign it), but also worries for the negative impact on the American people.

Election interference is a tiny little tree in a very big forest. The Trans Ban tree is not in that forest.

Yes dummy but it is a tiny tre in its own forest. You can't be outraged that something is so minor as to not worry about it (as in Russia) and then argue something as minor as $8 million is going to effect the budget so we should ban Trans people. Again you are scattered in your logic because you are prejudiced.

How exactly is Russia going to cripple us financially?

He wants to ease sanctions on Russia cuz he is in their pocket financially. Not because of some national pride.
