Militant public school teacher took students to Antifa protests, lied about absences, records show

Felarca is already under indictment for “assault by means of force likely to inflict great bodily injury, participating in a riot, and inciting a riot” when she was caught on video punching a man in the stomach and screaming, “Get the f*** off our streets!” during a June 2016 white supremacist protest in Sacramento. Felarca later stated her actions were “not a crime.”

Felarca is an outspoken leader of BAMN, an arm of the violent, self-proclaimed “anti-fascist” group Antifa. Felarca was placed on paid administrative leave in September 2016 while BUSD investigated “concerns [Felarca] may have engaged in inappropriate conduct,” a case document shows. The letter informing Felarca of her administrative leave says the leave “[was] not intended to be disciplinary.”

In October 2016, Felarca filed a lawsuit against BUSD (Yvette Felarca v. Berkeley Unified School District et al.) alleging the district violated her First Amendment rights by placing her on involuntary leave for her participation in a political protest. The case claimed in its introduction that Felarca “has received only positive evaluations over her ten years of teaching with BUSD” and said the defendants were conducting “a political witch-hunt against [Felarca].”

Parents need to step up and sue her ass for endangering their kids. Problem solved. If they don't, it means they condone her actions and that is their right.

As John previously wrote, the middle school teacher has already run into trouble with the law over her actions. Felarca was arrested earlier this fall for battery and resisting arrest for confronting members of Patriot Prayer. She also was arrested in June 2016 for felony assault and inciting a riot after being caught on film punching a man.

This 47-year-old middle school teacher believes she is entitled to harm the reputations and physically harm people who don’t subscribe to her far left agenda. Just like the name of her group states, she will try to suppress free speech by any means necessary. It’s rather unbelievable that a teacher continues these actions and remains in the classroom.

Now, she is going to have to defend those actions in a lawsuit. Perhaps hitting her in the wallet will be what finally teaches her that her violent and vindictive actions don’t have a place in a free and civil society.

Worden made it clear that he doesn’t feel comfortable or safe on campus because of this targeting of conservative students. “The No. 1 public university in the world and the so-called ‘birthplace of the free speech movement’ is anything but,” he said. “It is the place where America’s conservative youth are daily under threat of violence, lacking the support of the university administration, police, or city. The Free Speech Movement is dead, and the left has killed it.”

Felarca is being charged with "assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury, a felony, and inciting a riot, a misdemeanor," for her role in a bloody streetfight with a neo-Nazi group in 2016, Berkeleyside reports. The violent melee occurred when Felarca's Antifa group "By Any Means Necessary" (BAMN) clashed with members of the white supremacist groups Traditionalist Workers Party and Golden State Skinheads, who had obtained permission to protest at the State Capitol in June 2016. The melee resulted in multiple people suffering serious injuries, including stab wounds.

The Antifa activists' attorneys filed a motion for dismissal claiming that the DA and the California Highway Patrol colluded against them in what they describe as a politically motivated "witchunt." But Judge Savage says the defendants failed to show any convincing evidence of their claims.

"Simply nothing in these exhibits supports the defendants’ claims…that they were unjustly or unfairly culled out," Savage said in court Friday.

The basis of Felarca and her co-defendants' argument was that authorities had "disproportionately" gone after Antifa members, a notion dismissed by the prosecution. Berkeleyside reports:

"No one from my office really cares” about the defendants’ racial or political identities, said Paris Coleman, Sacramento County deputy district attorney. “That’s not why they were charged. They are captured on video committing crimes, unfortunately for them.”

After its lengthy investigation, the CHP submitted more than 100 arrest warrants from the rally, but the DA determined that most did not meet the office’s standards for filing charges, or were not backed by enough evidence, according to a statement by the DA. Coleman said the DA had the ethical obligation to go after the cases that could be proven, and nothing else.
