Melania Trump is embracing a more active and public schedule as first lady – but she still runs one of the leanest East Wing operations in recent history.

According to a Fox News analysis of White House personnel reports, Melania Trump has significantly reduced the number of aides on the first lady's office payroll in comparison to her predecessor, Michelle Obama.

During then-President Barack Obama’s first year in office, 16 people were listed working for Michelle Obama, earning a combined $1.24 million a year.

This year, just four people were listed working for Melania Trump as of June. Their salaries totaled $486,700.

It's nice having a President who's earned his own money, and so have his friends, so they don't need to raid our Treasury to get rich.

There is no need for a First Lady to have a staff if the First Lady has no agenda, no goal, no "cause, or no interest in doing anything to benefit the nation or it citizens. Mrs. Trump's page on the White House site (https://www.whitehouse.gov/administration/first-lady-melania-trump) lists nothing but her resume.

As for the poster's comments about the President having earned his own money and his friends doing the same so they don't have to raid the Treasury...how much has Mr. Trump spent flying back and forth on Air Force One to his golf courses? How much have his "friends" and cabinet secretaries spent on private charters while in office? And how much are they going to give back to themselves in the form of tax cuts? Come on...remove your head from your rectum.

I don't agree that a first lady does not need a staff.
The First lady probably gets a hundred lettes a day and requests for her presence or her backing for things.
She is scheduled for meetings and rally's, and has to sit with the President at State affairs things that need to be kept straight.
She travels with him a lot and needs someone to keep her in tune with what is going on.

I certainly think she needs a small staff to help her with these things.

What threw me off was the word bloat in the same sentence as Michelle.
