10 Things You Need To Know About Democrats SHELLACKING Republicans In Virginia

On Tuesday evening, despite polls showing a narrowing gubernatorial race between Democrat Ralph Northam and Republican Ed Gillespie in the days leading up to the election, Northam pulled off a massive victory ó and more importantly, Democrats across the state trounced Republicans, putting control of the heretofore Republican-dominated House in question. Democrats have already picked up 10 seats in the statehouse and could easily pick up another seven, flipping the legislature. Meanwhile, they picked up seats in the Washington state senate, the governorís mansion in New Jersey, and two Georgia House seats, as well as expanding Medicaid in Maine, among other gains.

    Ouch.

Here are 10 things you need to know:

    1. Virginia Was Already Moving Democratic. The 2016 map looks a lot like the 2017 map; between 2013 and 2017, Virginia moved steadily Democratic. Northern Virginia in particular has moved to the Left in radical fashion thanks to people moving in from Washington D.C. As Sean Trende of RealClearPolitics notes, ďA lot of those state House seats that flipped were R seats in 2012, but were Clinton seats in 2016. They were primed to flip.Ē Hereís Nate Cohnís map showing the shift from 2013 to 2017:

    8. Trumpism Doesnít Exist. The person hardest hit by Gillespieís loss is actually Steve Bannon. Bannon had been trying to take credit for Gillespieís poll rise, stating that Gillespie had embraced Trumpian politics. After Northamís blowout, however, Breitbart suddenly flipped and insisted that Gillespie was a ďRepublican swamp thing.Ē All of this is nonsense. Trumpism isnít a movement. Trump isnít a movement. Trump is Trump, and there are many people who like him. Itís that simple. You canít imitate Trumpís positions and hope to channel his popularity ó even Trump doesnít know his positions. You canít even mimic his aggression and hope to channel his popularity ó Trump has a certain draw that virtually no one else does. The notion that Gillespie lost because he wasnít adherent to Trumpism is a Bannon creation ó and Bannon has a stake in that creation because Bannon wants to represent Trumpism sans Trump. But Trumpism sans Trump is a figment of the mediaís imagination. There is no evidence for its existence whatsoever, which is why Bannon runs around the country picking candidates with no unifying agenda other than that Bannon can call them ďanti-establishment.Ē

Weíre tempted to suggest a conspiracy here ó but itís just liberals agreeing yet again that conservatives have hidden, evil motives, because modern liberals simply canít conceive of any other reason to disagree with the liberal consensus.

Sadly Virginia is turning into another Sanctuary/Welfare state.

Actually Gillespie got a higher percentage of votes in Virginia than Trump did.
The media and others are doing exactly what we all knew they would, they are calling this a landslide victory and a vote against Trump.
But the actual truth is that Virginia has become another Democrat bastion.
Remember they also elected MaCauliffe a POS if ever there was one.

Northam was in the lead all the way with Gillespie trailing badly until it tightened up.
Why is it surprising that won?

No kidding...I was wondering how much BS would be posted this morning. After watching Fox and Friends you would swear the Republicans never even had a candidate running in either race.

"Neither candidate embraced Trump" (I guess they didn't see any of Gillespe's ads)

"Both states are blue" (Expect VA had a Republican majority legislature and NJ's current gov is an R)
"We won the 4 special election seats" (Well sure...all of those special elections were held in deep red districts in which the previous office holder left to become part of the administration)

    ...spin...spin...spin.

The plain fact that the Trump cultists can't fathom is that the majority, and an increasing majority at that, do not approve of the President, his tactics or his views...and, IF that continues, it will hurt Rs in the 2018.

False...the actual percentages as reported by the VA dept of elections are essentially the same: 44.43 for Trump 44.95 for Gillespie

The fact is that is your opinion stated as fact.

It is also the tactic being used by the media to convince other of their opinion.

It is nothing new that many people in this country have a hard on for President trump.
We have seen that since Inauguration day in their never ending propaganda against the President.
If that continues (and it will) it is America that is being hurt.
With good backing, Trump could be a great President.
The R's are hurting themselves by not backing the President.

    You yourself stated the figures.
The figures show more for Gillespie
But my post was false. ( and you are full of ####.)

    LMAO What a tool.
