Preliminary Cause: Under investigation

Additional Information: Shortly after 5:00 P.M, two people in the area witnessed smoke coming from the woodline at the location of the fire. Upon investigation, a small barn was found to be on fire. The fire was contained to one portion of the abandoned barn due to the FDs quick response.. Anyone with information pertaining to this case is asked to call the Office of the State Fire Marshal- Southern Region at 443-550-6832.

Area of Origin: Rear exterior/ rear interior of vehicle

Preliminary Cause: Arson

Additional Information: Shortly after 9:00 P.M, Post Office workers witnessed a fire at the above location and notified the FD. The investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) poured an ignitable liquid on the Nissan Altima and intentionally set it on fire. The 1993 Chevrolet Camaro sustained damage to the rear bumper as a result of its proximity to the Nissan Altima. Anyone with information pertaining to this case is asked to call the Office of the State Fire Marshal- Southern Region at 443-550-6832.

Additional Information: Unknown suspect(s) poured an ignitable liquid on the side of the exterior of the van. An open flame was used to ignite the fire, causing damage to the exterior of the vehicle before burning itself out. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Maryland State Fire Marshals Office Southern Region at 443-550-6833.

Area of Origin: Exterior of the shed

Preliminary Cause: Embers from an unattended outside fire

Additional Information: The fire was the result of unattended ashes spreading to nearby combustible materials and igniting the exterior of the shed. The fire spread to the interior of the shed destroying the building and its contents, which included lawn care equipment and a motorcycle.

Area of Origin: Prison cell

Preliminary Cause: Electrical overload

Additional Information: The fire was determined to be the result of overloaded power strips that were inside the prison cell. Four power strips were plugged into each other and were powering multiple devices within the cell. There were no inmates in the cell at the time of the fire and the fire was discovered prior to any fire alarm or sprinkler activation and evacuation was not necessary.
