For all you "law and order" Trump voters...feeling betrayed...yet??

This is from one of your propaganda sites:

President Trump’s personal lawyer said the president cannot obstruct justice, despite arguments from Democrats that special counsel Robert Mueller is building a case for obstruction.

“[The] president cannot obstruct justice because he is the chief law enforcement office under [the Constitution’s Article II] and has every right to express his view of any case,” John Dowd told Axios.

The President cannot obstruct justice????? Really???

So according the Trump's lawyer, Trump is above the law. If the prosecutor doesn't have the ability to discuss on ongoing case, why does the "chief law enforcement office"??

Drain that swamp, baby. You all thought Trump's intention was to drain the swamp for your benefit!! Ha! Trump has never done anything for anyone's benefit other than his own.

Direct from that renowned conservative and bonafide Republican, Alan Dershowitz:

http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/12/...arges-against-trump-would-lead-constitutional

"If Congress were ever to charge him with obstruction of justice for exercising his constitutional authority under Article II, we'd have a constitutional crisis."

"There's never been a case in history where a president has been charged with obstruction of justice for merely exercising his constitutional authority."

God you people are brainwashed. You can continue to try to make fun of or belittle people who don't agree with you but you are the ones compromising your beliefs for a crook.

We really are getting close to the point where he could shoot someone on 5th ave and you guys would still support him.

How can you look at yourselves in the mirror and believe yourselves to be free thinkers when you continually debase yourself and your beliefs for this man?

In May 1977, three years after he resigned the presidency, Richard Nixon made a stunning declaration. The president, he told British journalist David Frost, in a series of historic interviews, is not bound by the same laws that apply to ordinary citizens. “When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal,” he explained. Congress, which filed articles of impeachment for obstruction of justice in the Watergate affair, obviously disagreed. Yet 40 years later, Donald Trump’s legal team has revived Nixon’s reasoning. As special counsel Robert Mueller closes in on what appears to be an obstruction case against the president, Trump’s attorneys are publicly laying the groundwork to argue that he is immune to any charges that could precipitate impeachment

None of them were stupid enough to admit to it on Twitter. Then have their lawyer lie and claim that he was the one who wrote it.

Dude, this is not a violation of the Logan Act. This sort of thing is commonplace with presidents-elect.

There is a path to obstruction since we now know, thanks to Trump’s lack of twitter impulse control, that he knew Flynn lied to the feds before he asked Comey to back off.

These people aren’t very smart. They’ve been given the rope, just give them enough time to bang themselves.

It's the uneducated leading the uneducated.

Their next excuse will be that he isn't a political and didn't realize he was breaking the law. Cut him some slack he is our new lord and savior

Good Luck with that .....

http://www.dailywire.com/news/24281/trumps-lawyer-heres-why-obstruction-case-against-james-barrett

"I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies. It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide!" Trump tweeted Saturday. On Sunday, Trump insisted in another tweet that he "never asked Comey to stop investigating Flynn," another key accusation leveled against him.

In an interview with Reuters on Sunday, Dowd said he was the one who wrote the Saturday tweet and that he made a "mistake" when composing it.

"The mistake was I should have put the lying to the FBI in a separate line referencing his plea," said Dowd. "Instead, I put it together and it made all you guys go crazy. A tweet is a shorthand." Reuters reports:

Dowd said the first time the president knew for a fact that Flynn lied to the FBI was when he was charged.

Dowd also clouded the issue by saying that then-Acting U.S. Attorney General Sally Yates informed White House counsel Don McGahn in January that Flynn told FBI agents the same thing he told Pence, and that McGahn reported his conversation with Yates to Trump. He said Yates did not characterize Flynn’s conduct as a legal violation.

Speaking with Axios, Dowd dismissed the argument that the tweet was an admission of guilt. "The tweet did not admit obstruction. That is an ignorant and arrogant assertion," said Dowd.

Axios notes that Democrats will try to counter the idea that a sitting president cannot be charged with obstruction, citing former Obama White House counsel Bob Bauer, who maintains that it is "certainly possible for a president to obstruct justice."

His lawyer is claiming he wrote the tweet and trying to cover. Isn't it a bit suspicious he suddenly took credit for the Tweet when its never been mentioned before that other people write Trumps tweets and the White house says we should take Trump tweets as official communication?

This is exactly in line with me saying they are trying to set the groundwork that a president can't obstruct justice which is patently false.

The extraordinary defense being outlined appears to anticipate two interconnected claims: that he was aware of or abetted a quid pro quo between his campaign and the Russian government, and that he subsequently worked to sabotage federal investigations into alleged collusion. The linkage is critical: as members of Washington’s white-collar defense bar told me after Trump fired James Comey, to prove obstruction Mueller must also prove corrupt intent. That doesn’t necessarily mean that he must uncover an underlying crime. But it does mean that Trump or his associates must have been attempting to conceal something.

The White House, which has insisted that tweets from the president should be taken as official statements, has declined to comment.
