Brake lines all done...new wiring harness all wrung out and the dashboard back in.. Test driving soon. This old piece of junk '69 Bronco needs some road time. They keep bringing 60, 70, 80 grand at Mecum and Barrett Jackson..who would have ever imagined that?

Hydro Boost .... :yay:

I use that on nearly all of my builds. Too simple ...very, very effective. On this one, it was necessary to run hydroboost or an auxiliary vacuum pump over a vacuum booster because the engine is supercharged.

Nice work! I just got this one on the road after 1-1/2yrs of weekends cussing, busted knuckles, blood, sweat, wanting to set it on fire, shoot it, lol.

You aren't thinking that you will fetch anything near that, are you? Those cars/trucks are mint, matching numbers, etc.

What DO you hope to get out of this restore?

Quite untrue for the Early Broncos. In fact, the highest selling trucks are almost always very highly customized with the lone exception of the Stroppe-built ones. It's a "different kind" of market. And there are no numbers to match on these...if you are really concerned about that kind of detail, you need only have block casting number that precedes the build date by a bit. I've been building and collecting the 66-77s for a long time. I have 5 currently..

Here's something I snipped from another forum. A typical list of mods and upgrades. In fact, it's nearly identical a list to the '76 I've been building (that's nominally a '69 in the OP) as a separate project and mine has an EFI 5.0 HO engine...a step up from the one described below. Similar builds have approached 80K.

This '67 sold last year at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas (Lot# 427) for $64,900. Here is the information from the listing:

"This original Montana survivor underwent an extensive no-expense-spared, two-year restoration. It features a classic, uncut look. It is equipped with the factory-original, fully performance-built 289ci engine with 125 test miles, featuring a 0.060 over bore, new Comp cam, new Edelbrock intake, new Holley carburetor and new headers. It is pushed by its original, fully restored transmission and transfer case. Other features include new aluminum radiator, Tom's Bronco power steering kit, all-new brakes and new Ford 9" rear end. It has a custom Flowmaster 2.5" dual exhaust that sounds fantastic. It also features five new Fuel Anza D558 wheels shod with Toyo Open Country M/T tires under a new 2.5" suspension lift from Tom's Bronco. The interior is sealed tight with new weatherstripping and seats refinished in nostalgic houndstooth with new foam on the original refinished seat frames, new carpet and new headliner. The dash was dismantled, painted, and treated to new knobs, pulls and a restored odometer displaying the original mileage. The Bluetooth-enabled RetroSound radio powering custom rear panels with 6x9” Kicker speakers and custom kick panel pods with 5-1/4" Kicker speakers sounds great accompanied by the amplified subwoofer. This is a one-of-a-kind showstopper."

sheet metal can be straightened or replaced

Indeed it can be. I seem to be doing a good bit of that lately...and, at the same time, I've stopped abusing them on trails so much. ;-)

I sold a very clean '68 289 V-8 Bronco (pic below) for $3500 back around 2002. That same truck would go for $20,000 today. ;-(
