Additional Information: Shortly after 6:00 a.m., the homeowners heard what sounded like a gunshot. After investigating, they saw flames coming from the garage. The cause of the fire was an electrical malfunction in the refrigerator. No one was displaced as the garages were away from the residence.

Additional Information: On Monday morning at 6:51 a.m. a traffic accident was reported to the St. Mary's County 911 Center involving a vehicle striking an electric pole at the above address. The house fire was reported at 6:55 a.m. The investigation revealed the traffic accident caused an electrical failure within the house. The owner of the house was displaced and is being assisted by family members and the Red Cross.

Additional Information: While replacing the fuel sending unit in a gasoline tank, a spark ignited the gasoline fumes in the work bay causing the fire to the building. The employee sustained minor burns to his hands. He was transported to MedStar St. Mary's Hospital where he was treated and released.

Around 7:00 p.m. another call for a brush fire was reported at the same location. Due to high winds, embers from the earlier brush fire ignited another tree on the property. There was no damage to the home as a result of these fires.

Upon fire department arrival, they found a fire in the utility sink in the first floor laundry room.
