On Monday, the United States Secret Service (USSS) dismantled a lie pushed by the media which was started by far-left Parkland activists who claimed that the NRA banned guns at their upcoming convention this weekend in Dallas.

The false claim started when gun control activist Cameron Kasky, who has a history of making wildly inaccurate claims, tweeted a screenshot from an article that noted that firearms would not be allowed at the convention due to President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence attending the event. Kasky tweeted: "The NRA has evolved into such a hilarious parody of itself."

However, the quote in the tweet explicitly stated that the Secret Service would be responsible for the event's security, not the NRA.

Wow. This is quite a stretch even for you. To ban guns at an NRA event is laughable since they continue to trot out the "banning guns doesn't work" line. So why not let everyone bring their guns. Won't the SS be safer that way with hundreds of good guys with guns around?

Begging for an argument by making stupid statements.
Our two resident liberals cannot see the difference between an appearance by John Q Public and an appearance by a President hated by them and many others with less than stellar intelligence. Trump has received many death threats even one really ugly and stupid, unfunny idiot who carried a head around in effigy.
It would be really stupid to allow Antifa to come to an appearance by him and be allowed to carry a weapon.

The secret Service is responsible for the safety of the President, I am not sure about the saftey of him.

And yes although I am four square for the 2nd. Amendment I can easily understand the SS not allowing every citizen with a gun in shooting range of the President.
I believe anyone with a brain can see the difference.

You spent the entirety of the last Admin berating the Pres for having armed security. NOW you "understand" having armed SS on guard and not allowing citizens to have guns near the Pres???

You really are a tool.

We don't need to lower the voting age...we need raise the IQ level that allows one to vote.

This is ridiculous. The announcement clearly says that the USSS is requiring that no weapons be allowed and only in connection with the VPOTUS's attendance.

Nobody berated Obama for having armed security. Of course he'd have armed security. He was berated for wanting us little people to be without the security he enjoys. He was berated for insisting that there was no need to own guns...as he was surrounded by armed guards. He was berated for his hypocrisy and elitist out of touch attitude.

i am sure there were plenty in the early days where they didn't ban the public from carrying, and the SS didn't exist for the first 100 years of this country. but lets say you are right and the SS has never allowed guns near the president.......

do you agree with disarming the puiblic in the name of protecting the president?
Do you beleive a gun free zone makes the president safer?
