Are we too cynical for space opera? Do we believe we will nuke ourselves before we go into space?

Or have our attention spans suffered and now can't focus on long stories?

If we showed the average Joe something like this would they laugh? Would they think alien civilizations are bull####? Would the average American think Jesus will arrive before 2050 making such a future ridiculous?

Would you want such a show to be like Game of Thrones?

I've smoked dope, chewed rope, danced, romanced, f***ed, farted, fought, shot the moon and drove big trucks. I've been to Janesville, Maine, Spain, Spokane, and Fort Wayne, seen the world's fair, been around the world twice, sailed the seven seas, looked danger in the face, and seen goats f*** in the marketplace, but I ain't never seen no $hit like the $hit that is posted by N7Spectre.

Could be worse.

Could have been Gary.

LMAO. Such a lovely little town...I remember watching it die as a young lad.

Some of my company's largest (physically and most expensive) products are manufactured by a group of companies centered around Indy and project-managed from an office located in a custom fabrication shop in Muncie. The guy that owns the Muncie office has been buying up everything in town in recent years, at firesale prices...additional production space..other machining companies...a bowling alley..a bar...

Science fiction shows suffered a movement from action adventures to soap operas about 10 years ago. Especially on syfy. This change drove me away. I want to watch a show about heroes going on adventures, not one focusing on who is sleeping with whom or the main characters bitching at each other. Character interaction should be minor secondary plot, not the main focus. it started with the Battle Star Galactica remake and Star Gate Universe. Both made me gag and I haven't bothered with any syfy series since.
