The US has made the symbolic relocation of its embassy in Israel.

What did we get from Israel for that massive negotiation nugget?

Nothing.

Trump, the Great Negotiator, gave away one of our greatest pieces of leverage for nothing. No reduction in settlements, no opening of borders...nothing, not one thing that can be used to then go back to the Palestinians and get something from them in return...

That assumes that any of those things are things we wanted. And that assuems the Palestinians would actually be open to anything resembling negotiations.

We "get" to be the first (but not only - Guatemala has already opened their new embassy, and many other nations are working on it [Honduras, Paraguay, Czech Republic, Romania, even Russia acknowledges that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel]) country to live in reality!

We get to acknowledge that which has been true since 1980.

What did we "get" from Palestine (or anyone else) for NOT acknowledging Israel's naming its capital as Jerusalem since 1980?

Like what? What do the Palestinians have that we might want, besides to stop ####ing blowing up non-Muslims, which they are clearly not going to do?

What did we get out of them in the past for keeping the embassy in Tel Aviv?

Is this the talking point your handlers are feeding you? Because it's stupid. You should be offended that that's all the more regard they have for your ability to reason.

I've been hearing this line almost non stop on every NPR station for the last day. Bitch, bitch, bitch, moan , moan, moan, he gave away something that we could have used to get something for. Well the truth is that we've got the respect of out ally country in the middle east. What do you think we should have gotten out of it, some kind of promise to negotiate with the Palestinians? We've got that already, it's the Palestinians (Hamas) that don't want to negotiate. They think if they blow up enough of themselves Israel is going to magically disappear. In no other country does the US not have its embassy in that countries capitol, leaving it outside of their capitol was demeaning to us and to them AND also illegal due to a piece of legislation from back in the 90's.

They do the same thing when they encourage their animals in the inner city slums to take to the streets looting and burning.

The Palestinians are just a third-world version of Ferguson or Baltimore.
