President Donald Trump gave a speech to the newest graduates of the U.S. Naval Academy Friday morning. Trump addressed the students, speaking of his administration’s accomplishments for the military and foreign policy abroad.

Then, the president did something very out of the ordinary, he remained onstage for another two hours, shaking the hands of every single graduate. That’s more than 1,000 midshipmen.

“I was given an option. I could make this commencement address, which is a great honor for me, and immediately leave and wave goodbye. Or I could stay and shake hands with just the top 100,” Trump said. “Or, I could stay for hours and shake hands with 1,100 and something. What should I do? What should I do?”

The graduates cheered.
