This was probably drafted with his Veto in mind so they have something for the election cycle.

Of course that was part of it. The veto bait part was the part about political appointees.
I liked Calvert County better when there were only two stoplights.

So you don't think having a couple of teachers and parents on the Board is appropriate when it's developing the rules you all bitch about? Did you happen to look at who sits on it now?

    Like this guy:

Maybe this one with a degree in Women's Studies is more to your liking:

    http://marylandpublicschools.org/sta...ns-Guyton.aspx

So I can be fair this one did teach for a bit in public schools:

Maybe this Education Theorist, you know like the ones that developed Common Core, is more to your liking:

    Another Common Core guy:

You do realize that the only thing the various Associations can negotiate about is salaries and duty day? Not fringe benefits, not working conditions (think class size and additional uncompensated duties like having to report an hour earlier than official hours because principals and vice principals are too ####ing lazy to come in to herd the buses like they're supposed to).

No, I’m against the Unions appointing them.

Actually the Governor appoints them with Legislative approval.

How do you think he gets names now, just opens up a phone book? Every single one of the current members, with the exception maybe of the student member, has been recommended by one or another group.

Take some time and go to the link I posted of the members and read their sorta resumes. Do they really listen to you?

Governor Ralph Northam, of Virginia, ("Dr. Dolittle" to detractors) signed two bills this week to limit suspensions of K-to-3rd graders to a maximum of 3 days, and of 4th- to-12-graders to a maximum of 45 days. Details are in the link below.

Everyone seems normal at first, until you get to know them.

You are being a bit dramatic here. When you look at her degrees you pick out womens studies when she has mostly psychology degrees.

Not that psychology degrees are the end all, but womens studies degrees earn more hate (as they should).

She earned a BA from Vanderbilt University in Psychology and Anthropology, a joint MA in Psychology and Women's Studies from Radcliffe College Consortium of Women's Studies at Harvard University, and a PhD in Psychology with a specialization in Developmental Psychology from Brandeis University.
If what I say offends you then you really don't want to hear what I keep to myself.

Maybe. But the bitching about actually having teachers and a couple parents having some input on the #### the State Board promulgates while the same people bitch about the "teachers" enforcing those same rules they had no part in developing pisses me off.

Again, you miss the point. It’s the Unions picking the nominees....l
