    What a sore loser!

Sheriff Fires Deputy Who Beat Him In Primary

Bon Homme County Sheriff Lenny Gramkow was not happy after he lost the Republican primary to one of his own deputies, so he relieved the officer of his duties just one minute after the polls closed. Mark Maggs was handed his termination letter and shared it on Facebook.

"Mark Maggs: This letter is to inform you that effective immediately you are terminated from the position of deputy sheriff for Bon Homme County. As of this moment you are no longer an employee of Bon Homme county. Please turn in all equipment belonging to Bon Homme County by 5 p.m. on June 6, 2018. Signed Lenny Gramkow, Bon Homme County Sheriff."

This guy could have walked away with dignity, and instead he pulled this stunt to become nationally famous for his pettiness. What a maroon.

    I have thought on this:
First does he have this authority, Is there a County Commissioners or other body in this County that can over rule him?
Can the new Sheriff file suit against him for firing him for insufficient reason?
Is there no legal recourse for the new man?

The Sheriff may have stepped in it.

Usually, the county commissioners do not have any "power" over the sheriff's office. The county commissioners are figure heads that actually only "delegate and regulate". The county commissioners approve budgets and raise taxes but do not have any legal authority.
