Angry mob shuts down Blue Lives Matter speech at Claremont McKenna College

    There will be no debate.

A throng of angry protesters converged at Claremont McKenna College on Thursday and effectively shut down a pro-police speech as they surrounded the building, forcing the speaker to give the talk via livestream to a near-empty room as they yelled “F*ck the police” and “Black Lives Matter” and banged on windows.

Heather Mac Donald, a Manhattan Institute scholar and author of the 2016 book “The War on Cops,” even gave her talk earlier than originally planned at the preppy and private Southern California campus because of the rowdy crowd estimated at more than 250 protesters, she told The College Fix via email Thursday.

Thirty minutes into the speech, police officers told her to cut it short, and she was given a four-officer escort through a side door and safely through some surprised protesters who had flanked that exit, Mac Donald said.

Why are college students adamantly opposed to speech that they disagree with? You would think they would allow diverse opinions then debate the speaker on those points. I guess it's just easier and a lot more fun to scream nazi & racist and then go set something on fire.

Monello thinks he is king of the forum, now. Just keep that in mind.

I don't think ANYBODY *wants* to hear speech of stuff they seriously oppose.

This is the stuff and substance of tolerance and free speech - TRY and think of something someone can give a speech about that REALLY offends you -
maybe a long tirade of the MOST racist jokes you can even imagine, littered liberally with profanity and racial caricatures.
How about a non-stop assault on your mom's sexual prowess and escapades? Something that makes your blood boil? Makes you seethe with rage?

And recognize then what tolerance and freedom of speech means.

Now - I do think the left is less supportive of free speech. They're the ones who are trying to shut it down.
My thought is an extension of what Jefferson said (he was talking about the Union)
" let them stand undisturbed as monuments of the safety with which error of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. "
Just LET people say what they want, and let people decide for themselves. You want people to know what racism is?
Let them talk, so people can hear what one sounds like.

Your voice is as free as anyone else's.

We've regrettably raised a generation of kids who have grown up with political correctness - that there are some things that ought not to be said.
There are opinions that are simply not allowed.

“Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.".Daniel Webster

    This is beyond disgusting.
And these are the supposedly educated young people of today.
