In the eyes of those on here, anyone who disagrees with our incompetent President is a hater. I guess you can add the Pope to the "hater" list.

Pope criticizes Trump administration policy on migrant family separation

Speaking to Reuters, the Pope said he supported recent statements by U.S. Catholic bishops who called the separation of children from their parents “contrary to our Catholic values” and “immoral”.

“It’s not easy, but populism is not the solution,” Francis said on Sunday night.

One of his most pointed messages concerned President Donald Trump’s zero-tolerance immigration policy, in which U.S. authorities plan to criminally prosecute all immigrants caught crossing the Mexican border illegally, holding adults in jail while their children are sent to government shelters.

The policy has caused an outcry in the United States and has been condemned abroad as videos emerged of youngsters held in concrete-floored enclosures and an audio of wailing children went viral.

U.S. Catholic bishops have joined other religious leaders in the United States in condemning the policy.

“I am on the side of the bishops’ conference,” the pope said, referring to two statements from U.S. bishops this month.

“Let it be clear that in these things, I respect (the position of) the bishops conference.”

Funny how Bishops cover for, move around and never condemn the kid touchers working in the Catholic Church, but now they condemn for the most part children entering illegaly into this country with adults that are not their parents.

Pope Francis has been a critic of the U.S. since at least 2013 (before that, no one knew who the heck he was).
He's taken a typical European socialist position on every issue I've ever seen on the Web, including income inequality and a general
support for the Palestinians while opposing Israel. With the possible exception of his position on abortion and gay
marriage - and he is a bit wishy-washy on those - he's about as atypical a Pope as I've seen in my lifetime.

Until he rises to the level of a John 23rd or John Paul II - I don't find anything he says noteworthy.
He's just an Argentinian spouting European talking points.

And I wish THIS would get some more attention. Border patrol knows that illegals crossing into this country are
changing their tactics every time they get wind of what we do - so, suddenly, a three-fold increase in requests for
asylum and a MUCH greater influx of adults traveling with children.

Some of these "parents" are nothing of the kind, and business as usual will not protect them until we find out
who they are.

Isn't it strange how many people like Tranny want to see children thrown in to the general population at those prison/detention facilities. Such child haters they are...

Wonder why they weren't child haters back when the same thing was being done during previous administrations....or is always done when US citizens are incarcerated?

They were too busy being child molesters and child killers.

And many of them are.

And many of them are asylum seekers who aren't breaking any laws.

It's funny how christians would always punish everyone because one bad actor might get through instead of help everyone because one unfortunate person might not get helped.

I love how all of a sudden the progs are pro-Christianity, spouting scripture and insisting the Pope is an authority figure.

If the pope wants to get involved in US politics, perhaps the RC churches in the US start paying property taxes on their vast real estate holdings. At least this way they will have some skin in the game.

And turn over all the pedos for prosecution.

TranSap,

Is it your contention that we should follow those things that are ok with the Pope, i.e., in line with Catholic values, only in terms of how we run our country?

Of course not.

He was simply pointing ut one additional public figure that disapproves of this new US policy. as the title states when read in conjunction with the previous post

If you listen to a song is that an endorsement of the signers beliefs?

How about a movie star?

Use some logic and stop playing word games.

Central Americans seeking asylum are required to petition for it in the first safe nation they arrive in. That would be Mexico, not America.

So, the REASON this additional public figure disapproves is not worthy of discussion?

For example, should we put as much weight on his disapproval of the abortion issue? How about his position that homosexuals cannot form families?
