I don't know why the media send out "journalists" on a news assignment , when it just as easy to sit on their asses and make up the stories they want.

Think of the per diem expenses they could save that way.

    From your article:

We regret and apologize for the false lower third graphic that aired during our special report. We are investigating how incorrect information was in our system and how and why it was allowed to air. We apologize to our viewers and to Mr. Manafort. There simply is no excuse for this sort of mistake,” ABC News’ media relations team tweeted.
They didn't say they were sorry? Do you not know the definition of apologize?

a·pol·o·gize: express regret for something that one has done wrong.

synonyms: say sorry · express regret · be apologetic · make an apology · ask forgiveness · beg (someone's) forgiveness · ask for pardon · beg

    Sorry implies a change.

It's also not engaging in the same behavior.

Yes. It's an expression of remorse for one's actions, and an implied promise that it won't happen again.

ABC is sorry they got busted, not sorry they did it. And it will surely happen again. Therefore their apology is worthless.

I've always said - and teach my children - that an apology is not a get out of jail free card that absolves you of everything and frees you from punishment.
It has three parts - culpability, contrition, resolution.

    IN short:

    1. It was my fault
    2. I regret having done it
    3. I promise it won't happen again.

An apology that just admits error isn't anything. Even criminals plead guilty.
“Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.".Daniel Webster
