There was some video that came out yesterday that some guy was walking around asking college kids what they thought of President Trump's Supreme Court pick . They were giving their opinion about how much they hated it, and of course he hadn't even made his choice public yet.

    SAW IT!

I wonder if they even had enough sense to be embarrassed after being told that the choice hadn't even been made, yet!

I am sorry the video ended before we got to see the idiots' faces when told there wasn't a nomination yet.

    Brett Kavanaugh:

    • Kavanaugh, 53, made a name for himself in the 1990s during two Clinton-era scandals. He led the Whitewater independent counsel's inquiry into the death of Clinton White House counsel Vincent W. Foster Jr. and later wrote much of the Starr Report ó which included graphic details about then-President Bill Clintonís relationship with Monica Lewinsky.
    • Under Bush, Kavanaugh was a top White House lawyer. In 2003, Bush appointed him to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Democrats stalled his nomination for three years before he was eventually appointed.
    • The judge grew up in Bethesda and attended Georgetown Preparatory School as well as Yale University and Yale Law School. He later clerked for Kennedy on the Supreme Court and is a friend of Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr.
    • On the Court of Appeals, Kavanaugh has frequently provided a conservative opinion. In 2017, he was among three dissenting judges on a decision that allowed an immigrant teenager to get an abortion. At the time, he said the majority had "badly erred" and created a new right for undocumented immigrant minors in custody to "immediate abortion on demand."
    • Another decision swept aside a key pillar of Maryland's plan to reduce soot and smog. In 2012, Kavanaugh formed part of a panel that said the Environmental Protection Agency had overstepped its authority with the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule, also known as the "good neighbor rule." The decision struck down a federal rule aimed at limiting air pollution crossing from one state to another.
    • In 2011, he said the court could not call Obamacareís health insurance mandate unconstitutional until it had actually gone into effect.

While Dick Durbin is asking fellow democrats to fall on their swords, and risk not being reelected to vote no on Trump's SCOTUS pick, ten red state democrats are facing that prospect:

Kavanaugh's nomination leaves red state Democrats with dilemma of a lifetime – betray their party or voters?

Ten Democratic senators up for reelection this November hail from states that President Trump won, and in many of them commandingly so.

President Trump won Claire McCaskill’s state of Missouri by 19 points; Joe Donnelly’s Indiana by 19 points; Jon Tester’s Montana by 21 points; Heidi Heitkamp’s North Dakota by 36 points; and Joe Manchin’s West Virginia by an eye-opening 42 points.

In each of these states, voters sent an unmistakable message to their elected officials: We support President Trump and his agenda. And yet, in each of these states, their senators talk like Donald Trump – but vote like Chuck Schumer.

As November approaches, it should come as no surprise that these vulnerable red state Democrats are now engaging in some fancy political footwork as they desperately try to convince their constituents that they are Trump allies, despite their proven track record of opposing him.
While McCain is a no vote because of his illness (anyone who is so ill that they can't be present to perform their elected duties, especially something as important as appointing a SCOTUS justice, should resign) and Rand Paul may vote no because Kavanaugh is viewed as a DC insider, I believe there will be plenty of red state democrats that will vote yes to preserve their reelections; which will probably cause Durbin to pop his cork. It was easy for Durbin to throw his "fall on your sword" statement out there. He's from a blue state, and he's not even up for reelection. What a coward!
