Actually what is really not surprising is that you are stunned because it shows your utter lack of understanding of the issue the majority of people have with guns and your lack of understanding of what the majority of people want vs don't want.
But your lack of understanding isn't a new concept for you is it?
It should not surprise you that the majority of people are not jumping up and down to ban shotguns....because the majority of people (who you in your pavlovian responses think are all "Anti 2A) don't want to ban all guns.
It should also not surprise you that a main concern of the majority of people is the speed at which a weapon can be fired and the capacity of rounds a weapon can fire before reloading is required. Neither of these are issues with shotguns. You know guns (seems to be all you know)...and you don't understand this?
The majority of people also understand that people will still die via gun violence.
It is only fringe folks like yourself and folks on here from the freaky far right and the folks on the freaky far left who don't seem to understand that there are methods to reduce the potential for mass shootings in this country.
You and yours want to sit around with your collective heads up your asses claiming dead school kids are just collateral damage and necessary for your continued 2A rights.
Do you just feel compelled to chime in, no matter how irrelevant and pointless your remarks are?
The discussion involves this:
1. We recognize - we meaning everyone, left, right, center - that this tragedy could NOT be avoided based on any set of laws or proposals at hand or suggested.
2. The left's normal weeks long braying and complaining about assault weapons and handguns and banning guns has been extremely silent even in the aftermath of five dead.
And - odd that it's newspaper personnel - some of their OWN - they're saying little.
So they are not cashing in with their usual arguments, because they could not have prevented this. Wow. The whole article is about this. Did you miss this, or just ignore it anyway?
And per usual, you vaguely refer to unnamed "methods" to "reduce the
potential for mass shootings in this country." Oh do tell. You might actually have to DEFEND THEM, though.
