Ben Stein just had a segment on CBS Sunday Morning. He attributes a large portion of the POTUS' odd statements and behavior to jet lag and fatigue.
He went on to say that it used to be mandatory that traveling dignitaries were required to arrive 48 hours prior to any meetings to allow re-acclimation to the current time zone, and this policy was discontinued during the Nixon administration.
He does have a point. Jet lag can mess with your judgement, but I think Ben is overlooking the fact that this is who Trump is. 48 hours of rest would not change one thing he says or does. In fact, he'd be frustrated for having to stand down when there were things to do.
