Mentions of the economy as the top problem reached 86% in February 2009, the highest in recent decades.

As the economy has been receding in Americans' minds as the top problem facing the nation, issues relating to the way the country is being governed have become more prevalent. This month, 29% of Americans cite concerns about government, approaching the all-time high of 33% in October 2013 -- when the U.S. government shut down after Congress failed to agree on a spending bill.

The actual category is "dissatisfaction with govt/poor leadership". Since March, this has risen 7%. This is huge given the number of options to choose from.

What can you realistically expect when the public is told 24/7 to believe how bad he's doing. Nobody Reagan, Clinton or B.O. could put up good numbers against that collaboration, what matters is how he's doing his job. Perhaps you could actually read the ####ing thing.

Republicans are much more positive than Democrats are about Trump, and they are much more likely to say they are satisfied with the way things are going in the country. However, like Democrats, Republicans currently identify some aspect of the way the nation is being governed as the top problem facing the nation. This is the case even though the GOP controls both houses of Congress and the presidency, but it stands as testimony to the broad nature of the public's displeasure with their representatives in Washington.

None of this is an indictment of Trump. Sure, Socialists are boo hooing because we're taking our country back and not allowing them to turn us into some third world #### hole. Nobody cares what they think. I personally know Democrats who are disgusted by their party and the leadership. I know Republicans who are disgusted with Ryan, McConnell, etc.
