Maryland police are not looking into a second allegation regarding Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh while he was in high school and have received no such complaint, despite a local news report Monday claiming “investigators” were looking into it.
"I have spoken with my chief of detectives, and neither of us have any knowledge of anyone coming forward to us to report any allegations involving Judge Kavanaugh," police Chief J. Thomas Manger told the Washington Examiner.
The Montgomery County Sentinel had reported earlier in the day that “investigators” who spoke on background, said they were “aware of a potential second sexual assault complaint in the county against” Kavanaugh, and claimed an “anonymous witness came forward this weekend.”
As the Examiner notes, the Sentinel didn’t say the “investigators” were police, but the implication was there.
