Big cities

Currently we are in Indianapolis, Indiana. It's a capitol city. I'm pretty sure it's the biggest city in the state. And we got to talking about big cities on the coasts compared to midwest cities. So what are the big US cities?

So we agree that NY & LA are the big 2. Then Chicago comes next. So who's 4th? I'd go with DC. It's not huge in size but more for importance. 5 through 10 are toss up. Philly, Boston, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, St Louis, Seattle, take your pick.

this is more my speed ;

Wyoming (/waɪˈoʊmɪŋ/ ) is a state in the mountain region of the western United States. The state is the 10th largest by area, the least populous, and the second most sparsely populated state in the country. Wyoming is bordered on the north by Montana, on the east by South Dakota and Nebraska, on the south by Colorado, on the southwest by Utah, and on the west by Idaho and Montana. The state population was estimated at 586,107 in 2015, which is less than 31 of the most populous U.S. cities including neighboring Denver.[7] Cheyenne is the state capital and the most populous city, with population estimated at 63,335 in 2015.[8]

I feel like big cities like Boston and DC are further down on that list because there's less square mileage to the actual "city limits" and therefor restricts how many people can actually LIVE INSIDE of those city limits. No? Like Boston and DC have dozens of burroughs just outside of the actual city limits. All of those burroughs contribute to and are active parts of the actual city. Only dedicated and long-term residents of those burroughs will know them all but most people will just state, eh I live in DC when they actually live in Woodley Park :shrug:

I'm a huge fan of mid-size and small cities; big cities can suck it. I'm madly in love with small towns that have a solid community and an attractive downtown.
