Democrats start to regret piling money on Beto O’Rourke. Is bulging war chest going to waste?

Despite touting socialist-like policies, Texas Democrat congressional nominee Rep. Beto O’Rourke seems to prefer not sharing his wealth, much to the chagrin of other nominees across the nation.

“It’s great that O’Rourke has inspired so many people and raised so much money, and if he can spend it all effectively in Texas, he is well within his rights to do so,” Matthew Miller, a veteran Democrat strategist and Texas native, said to The New York Times last week.

“[H]e could have a huge impact for the party by sharing some of it with the D.S.C.C. so it could be spent in states where candidates just need a little extra to get over the hump,” Miller added, referencing the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee.

The Democrats are still holding on to this idea that they are going to turn Texas red -

by massively funding Democratic candidates.

WRONG strategy. It might win a few seats from time to time, but you must persuade the voters
to change their minds to have any chance. And Texans are among the most stubborn people
on the face of the earth.

AND you won't win them by telling them they're wrong. You win by running a moderate
Democrat who agrees with issues important to Texans. This is true elsewhere in red states where
Democrats hold seats - they don't resemble Democrats say, in the Northeast or West Coast.
In red states, Democrats who hold seats are - for example - supporters of the 2nd amendment.

Right now their strategy is partly - supremely stupid. They're basing a lot of their appeal on the one
segment of the population which routinely shows up in small numbers at the polls - youth.
They have the energy, but they don't show up.

Progressives think since they have taken over a couple of the Large Cites and Austin ... the state is flipping or at least Purple now

Because TX is a border state, it's being flooded with immigrants - legal and illegal. I expect it to turn blue within the next 10-20 years.
