Trump's Approval Rating Is Better Than You Think

Democrats and the press keep describing Trump as a hugely divisive figure. But the polls show that his approval is starting to line up with previous presidents.

What's more, Trump's low numbers are almost entirely because Democrats are universally opposed to him.

To see this effect, look at the IBD/TIPP polls from the same month in the Trump and Obama administrations.

In October 2010, Obama had an approval rating of 42%. Trump's approval in the October 2018 IBD/TIPP poll is 40%.

Naturally, Democrats gave Obama a sky-high approval ratings, as do Republicans for Trump.

Among independents, there's almost no difference — Trump's approval is 33%, Obama's was 34%.

But there's a huge gap in how Democrats and Republicans viewed their political opponents.

At this point in Obama's presidency, 10% of Republicans approved of the job Obama was doing. And that was after his massive failed stimulus, his signing of ObamaCare and Dodd-Frank, and other policies highly antagonistic to Republicans.

Trump, on the other hand, gets approval from a mere 5% of Democrats. That's where it's been throughout Trump's presidency.

Donald Trump is the 45th president of the US. That means there were 44 before him. Now I know you and the ignorati on here that so willingly follow your propaganda believe that the universe began on Jan 20, 2009. However, that simply is not true.

There are stark differences to every other post WWII president and Trump...all of them either started out significantly above 50% in their approval ratings or their ratings initially rose. At this stage of the game. all but Carter, Reagan and Truman had better numbers than Trump currently does.

All those that fell had some major issue going on that brought down their poll numbers: the economy was tanking again during Reagan, Carter had the Iran hostage problem, Clinton---can't remember what his problem was at this point. Trump on the other hand inherited a growing economy, falling unemployment and low interest rates. If he possessed any leadership, managerial or political skills his numbers should be well above 50%. But they are not and they never have been. Trump's poll numbers have not moved much since his inauguration. More than half the country has disapproved of him since his election.

Why is Trump so disliked? No it's not because of the media. It's because of him. He's governs ONLY for the minority of people who support him. He acts like a spoiled child. He has no working knowledge of any of the issues facing this country. We works well ONLY with those who deify him. He IS inept. He IS incompetent. He IS unfit.
