What the guy actually said:
Hawkins said he was transferred from Calvert after a newspaper in Chesapeake Beach wrote an article about him.

“I was a little bit too arrogant for them. I’ll leave it at that. Some say I was too pro-black. I always told the truth,” Hawkins said. “They sent me to [the] Forestville [barrack]. Best move in my world. Every single day it’s something going on.”

Too many crackers here in Calvert for his liking. He'd rather see the 'dorf.

If he feels this way about Calvert County residents why is he running for sheriff?
I would hope that a candidate would have some feelings of being proud of a county he was running for office in.

My suggestion for this guy is he should run for office in Prince Georges County.
