According to news accounts, H.R. 1 would, among other things, establish automatic voter registration and "reinvigorate" the Voting Rights Act. In other words, make it harder to root out voter fraud. It will also push public financing of congressional campaigns, with a 6-to-1 government match on small dollar donations.

How many voters knew that's what Democrats had planned?

Those are bad enough. But the plan would also call for amending the Constitution to restrict free speech rights under the guise of campaign finance reform.

After watching Florida and Georgia, I really do not see any sense in individual voter ID.
When the chips are down Democrats do not need individual votes, they can manufacture them by the thousands, ID or no ID.

It does seem to be the pattern, that when an election is CLOSE, a single county can manufacture votes to eke out a win.

While not a shock, it is thankfully also not a threat. No law like this will make it through the Senate or the White House, so it is pointless fodder for the base, while wasting time and energy better spent on eliminating unconstitutional departments within the federal government.

They would be far better off crafting a law that would make recreational pot legal, overriding the FDA (which is well within their rights to do). This is likely to pass all if it is couched in terms of "states rights" for the right, and "tax the living crap out of it" for the left.

Concur 100% - it is political theater, not governance.
