Revelation 12:13 When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. 14 The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach.

All heaven rejoices over the great victory. But the dragon now vents his wrath on his remaining earthly target, the woman. Whenever Christians remain true to Christ and will not be turned or compromise their beliefs, Satan’s anger is aroused and he excited persecution against them. The church was forced to flee to the uninhabited “wilderness: for “a time, and times, and a half a time,” the 1,260 year period of Papal domination. Millions of Christians were martyred during this time because they chose to obey the Bible instead of the decrees of Popes and church councils. The mountains of Europe and the wilds of Africa and Asia became their refuge, and the new land of America seemed divinely ordained as a stronghold of religious freedom.

With that out of the way..... the easy English has these comments to add.

Verse 13 The dragon could not kill the child. God threw the dragon (Satan) out of heaven. So, the dragon turned his attention to the woman. He tried to kill her.

The woman means the true Jews. They are the Jews who trust in God. Satan will oppose them. But God will protect them.

Verse 14 God gave to the woman a pair of wings. They were like the wings of a great eagle. The eagle is a very powerful bird. With these wings, the woman escaped from the dragon.

The Lord had prepared a place for the woman. It was in the desert. She flew there and she was safe. The Lord protected her for three and a half years. The dragon had just three and a half years before Christ would arrest him. The woman was safe for the whole of that period.

This means that the Lord protects his own people. So, the Lord will protect until the end the Jews who trust in him.

The dragon tried to reach the woman. But he was not able to hurt her.

Way back when... there were two brothers... Ishmael and Isaac. They were both sons of Abraham.... who had a really close relationship with God. Now Abraham's wife, Sarah, tried and tried and tried to get pregnant. Abraham needed a son because back then... a son was an inheritance.... so Sarah used her servant Hagar as a surrogate. Sarah got jealous though and ran Hagar off.... Do you think Satan would dwell over that story to drive a wedge between the people and God? Do you see an opening for a religious war? I did at first.... but .... that war has already happened.... over and over and over again.....

This war is bigger than that.... the only reason Sarah got jealous of Hagar.... Satan whispered in Sarah's ear....

This war is about who can whisper what to the humans. This war is about washing death off of the planet so humans can walk and talk with God again.
