What has Trump done to undermine our Democracy?? .................
Crickets. Seriously, you could make a case that those things are ANNOYING, but they don't undermine democracy.
Now, using the Espionage Act against the press, spying on citizens and political opponents, weaponizing the IRS,
forcing the shutdown of coal-fired plants, electronic spying on citizens - THESE sorts of things are ACTUALLY
undermining democracy, rather than simply SAY things that hurt liberal's feelings. Separating children? We KNOW
Obama did the same, just fewer. Obama undermined democracy - if the Obamacare mandate alone isn't proof,
that the government can compel you to buy something you don't want.
The press isn't the enemy of the people, but lately they've been the enemy of the truth. As long as one narrative
dominates the news cycle, it doesn't have to be TRUE. We now have an enormous portion of Democratic voters
who believe in a Russian collusion story that has less credibility than the Obama birth certificate controversy.
By plying the same story, we have two thirds of Democratic voters who actually believe the Russians tampered
with the vote totals and gave an election to Trump rather than Hillary. It doesn't matter that even the press has
admitted it's not true - the story persists because his detractors keep it alive. For God's sake, if this was Watergate,
Trump would have resigned, got on the plane and left the White House last summer, following the same timeline,
and at least with Nixon, there were verifiable and visible *crimes*.
We have news stories out there being ridiculously portrayed by the press as a woe-begotten ragtag caravan of
refugees from a perilous nation - whose flag they patriotically fly - who are walking along except for the buses
that carry them (because walking would take months) - who are just fleeing tyranny but crash right through a border
fence in Mexico and curse the leaders of the U.S. - who are offered sanctuary in Mexico but refuse - who are portrayed
as women and children, and yet any reporter there admits, it's almost entirely young men. It's a political stunt;
it's always been one. And the press wants to portray it otherwise.
When we in the West would hear how stories were portrayed in the Communist bloc, such as in Russia or East Germany
back at the height of the Cold War, we knew the pattern. It was a complete fiction written by the press, to make
the West look corrupt, immoral and decadent.
It was undermining the truth. It's what undermining democracy is - when they make ####e up, the press is doing it.
