1 Chronicles 2:34 Sheshan had no sons—only daughters.

He had an Egyptian servant named Jarha. 35 Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to his servant Jarha, and she bore him Attai.

36 Attai was the father of Nathan,

Nathan the father of Zabad,

37 Zabad the father of Ephlal,

Ephlal the father of Obed,

38 Obed the father of Jehu,

Jehu the father of Azariah,

39 Azariah the father of Helez,

Helez the father of Eleasah,

40 Eleasah the father of Sismai,

Sismai the father of Shallum,

41 Shallum the father of Jekamiah,

and Jekamiah the father of Elishama.

Oh... my.... the only real commentary on these family members... well it's that they are not in the exact same line as David. That's all the commentaries say.... some don't even say that.

I google Obed because I thought he was in the line.... but this is what came up for "Obed in the Bible."

In the Tanakh, Obed (Hebrew: עוֹבֵד, 'Ōḇêḏ, "worshipper") was a son of Boaz and Ruth, the father of Jesse, and the grandfather of David. He is named as one of Jesus' ancestors in the genealogies recorded in the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Luke.

This is from enduringword.com.

The sons of Jerahmeel: This traces a side-line in the tribe of Judah, separate from the line that culminated in David.

So I guess these are the relatives that would show up for a census or a Passover and then go home to their separate places. So we could consider these the suitcase cousins.... :gossip:
