Just an observation...

NewsChannel8 reporting that the jury in Charlottesville is recommending life in prison for the White Nationalist convicted of killing that woman at the rally. Have you ever seen a defendant identified as Black Nationalist?

No, but then, there aren't all that many of them either.

Nationalism itself is a somewhat recent concept and isn't bad in itself.
Prior to it, people identified as part of a people, an ethnic group.
Or in loyalty to their king or lord - or their clan. When a group went to war -
they were warring for the Scots - or the Rus - or Germans or Greeks.
People began to think more about loyalty to their nation - for, say France
rather than its king or ethnic French.

But some people use the concept for things like - race. Hence, WHITE nationalism.
As in loyalty to whites, or a white nation. There have been many other such
groups, but white nationalism has a bigger footprint here. Black nationalism
really hasn't been around since Malcolm X.

While the number of both black and white nationalists is small in comparison to the total number of each race in this country, there certainly black nationalists. What is the Black Panther (or, New Black Panther) Party but the black version of the KKK? That's just one example, but they're certainly there.

However, they will never (in our lifetimes) be given derogatory status in the media, as it is presumed by the bulk of media that black people, ten generations removed from slavery in the United States, are still "held down" and therefore justifiable in their hatred (for the small percentage that do hate) of white people, and thus justified in any horrible belief or action that comes from that hatred.

Pretty sure this man went to that rally with the intention of protesting the removal of a statue.
Like most of those there who are accused of being Supremicists, Naionalists or Nazi's.
There was no intent to harm anyone it was to be a peaceful march.
They didn't wear masks and they didn't hide their intention.
The along came this bussed in crowd of trouble makers. Wearing masks carrying weapons.

The police were ordered to stand by and do nothing.
IMO the police should be held responsible for the murder for if they had done their jobs there would have been no murder..
But that's another subject.

As angers flared with no attempt to control the situation it got out of hand and thi man got in his car and killed one of the bussed in crowd.
He did it, there is no excuse he should be punished.
But it was not murder in the first degree,There was no pre-planning to go there with his car and murder someone.
He is being made an example of with this harsh sentence, but that is what happens when politics and a criminal case meld.

Agree.

This march would have come and gone with very few people even knowing it happened....then the anti free speech fascists had to show up and start busting chit up.

If anyone recalls, it started out with these folks objecting to the removal of Confederate statues. That is reasonable and harmless. The violence began when the opposition showed up and started picking a fight. Now, I give zero craps about Confederate monuments - I've made myself clear about this stuff in the past - but it is in fact their right as Americans to protest. They should have been allowed their little march, then everyone goes home. Instead, not only did disrupters show up, but the cops did nothing to stop them. Had the city government done its job, that girl would be alive today.

It's pretty easy to mindlessly rave about Nazis; takes a little more effort to actually examine the situation and come to a reasonable conclusion.

The bots want to keen in the streets because Trump actually did that - examined the situation and came to a reasonable conclusion. There are good and bad people on both sides. If you think anything different, you're a brainwashed idiot who should be stripped of their voting rights and not allowed a say in our government.

But ... But ...

There is Never a 'good' Nazi or White Supremacist ... these Nazi's need to run from the public spaces, shamed and fired from their JOBS

Every white is considered a white Supremecist.
If you attend a rally that the liberals have not put or that offends their agenda you are automatically a Nazi.

Not all of the Charlottesville protesters were Nazis or white supremacists. A good number of them were normal boring citizens who are outraged that our American history is being dismantled and eradicated. That's what the march was initially about.

Nation of Islam is a black nationalist(separatist) group. But the MSM would never call them that. Don't believe it? Check out Loony Louie's website:

We want our people in America whose parents or grandparents were descendants from slaves, to be allowed to establish a separate state or territory of their own–either on this continent or elsewhere. We believe that our former slave masters are obligated to provide such land and that the area must be fertile and minerally rich. We believe that our former slave masters are obligated to maintain and supply our needs in this separate territory for the next 20 to 25 years–until we are able to produce and supply our own needs.

If the white people are truthful about their professed friendship toward the so-called Negro, they can prove it by dividing up America with their slaves. We do not believe that America will ever be able to furnish enough jobs for her own millions of unemployed, in addition to jobs for the 20,000,000 black people as well.

Well said :yay:

Nazi's and Antifa and the KKK and the New Black Panthers and everyone else has the right to their bad opinions, and to march as they desire. There are little slips of paper the government provides that allows for such things, called permits, and you fill out those little slips of paper and do your thing and it's all over with when you're done.

Unless a bunch of people without the little slips of paper show up and block you, and scream at you, and hold their own little rallies. Now, in a free society, this would be ok, too, but it's a reasonable use of government to keep these folks apart from one another to minimize the potential of either side harming the other, or things getting out of control and publicly-owned (taxpayer funded) property getting damaged.

That didn't happen here. And, it wasn't precluded from happening through incompetence, but through design of the local political leaders. That makes them far less culpable than the idiot who drove his car into people and other cars, but it certainly puts blood on their hands.

The Governor of the State also refused to provide State Police.
