The apparatchiks of the social justice left piled on to ensure that heads would roll. The activist gathering site Change.org shows a petition demanding changes at Covington Catholic School, including the termination of the principal. Clearly petrified by the avalanche of bad press, the administrators at Covington initially condemned the actions of their own students, some of whom were said to face expulsion. There were even reports that Covington parents have received death threats.

Unsurprisingly, this entire incident has been egregiously mischaracterized to bash the Catholic, Donald Trump-supporting teenagers, and protect some adult left wing protestors from accountability for acting very poorly. The media saw an opportunity to advance a preferred narrative of privileged, white, Trump-supporting students disrespecting a Native American elder for no reason other than a “dislike of others.” And they ran with it.

If these kids end up on a solo bus tour pimping thier agenda and being interviewed on national shows then the left has every right to engage them on that agenda. Private flights to DC? Yep, lay into them. But this isnt the same otherwise. Nobody cared one way or another about the Parkland kids until they were weaponized against the Second Amendment. If someone wants to engage with them about marching for life, fair game, go right ahead.

But this fracas has nothing to do with that. They were not marching anywhere, they didn't have signs, they didn't instigate any of this.

As for AOC, we'll, were she getting the same level of press attention as other fresmen reps, nobody would be talking to her. But she is. Any others appearing on Colbert, or Kimmell, or wherever it is?
