The Washington Times ran a story about these disillusioned people on Sat., I believe.

I feel they are the cream of the crop to emigrate to either Canada or France. No mercy feelings, or lamenting: "Sorry you have to leave!"

Bye, Bye azzclowns.

And, BTW, "You've just renounced your American Citizenship too."

I know it's not right to judge people just by the way that they look, but really. . .

:patriot:

Do they think that Bin Laden and his ilk care? Do they think that maybe somehow now they'll be excluded from the Wahabi's war on the USA? I notice that they all look fairly young, perhaps their brains just haven't developed yet?

Which tends to lead me to two conclusions - one, this is the first election they've ever taken part in, and two, this is their first foray into anything political, on a national stage. Youth tends to always be anti-establishment, no matter what - "it sucks!" - and so had Gore been president the last four years, they'd still be saying it.

I remember all through college, there was always some wide-eyed schmuck who thought he'd discovered some secret, hidden truth about the United States, and would feel zealous enough to "enlighten" me about it. Of course, this was the 70's and 80's, so everything was about El Salvador and Nicaragua. I didn't know how to explain to them that if they'd been paying *attention* throughout grade school and high school, instead of jacking off and getting stoned, they'd know all about this stuff.

It was the same kind of wide-eyed behavior I saw in newly-made religious zealots. They always assumed that because it was all news to them, it must be news to everyone. It made me long to return to an engineering-only school where the vast majority just didn't give a crap.

At least I wouldn't be bombarded with "enlightened" persons wishing to save my soul or "opening my eyes" to the evils of the United States.

But don't you think that's a riot? It's such a "young person" thing to do. It's like babies discovering their own piggies - they're fascinated! "Hey! What are these things? Where did THEY come from! Mom! Look! Aren't these the coolest?"

That's what I think these days when some 20 year old kid tries to get on here and tell me all about it - "Isn't that cute? Piggies!"

It IS a young person thing to do. When your candidate loses, move on. Kerry and Edwards didn't just energize their base, they spawned a legion of unwitting nutballs (I am NOT dissing Democrats, just those young liberals who are over the top). And to that rap star - "Vote or Die" needs a little work (courtesy of Dowd's column in the Post).

What made me even sicker was the "Apologies Accepted" gallery. WTF, if it hadn't been for us (and our army) Italy and France would be singing Deutschland, Deutschland uber alles.... (apologies to Kevin Kline)

I try not to get too wound up for two reasons - one is, I don't want to feel OLD. As arrogance is the distinctive trait of youth, so cynicism is of old age. I'm still in my 40's and I don't want to be using the word "whipper-snappers" just *yet*.

But the other reason comes from your "piggies" story. My mother once told me how I came in with a maple leaf at five years old, utterly amazed at the intricate vein system on it. I could not believe something as simple as a leaf was so complex. Although my mother at first made a big deal of it, because I was a child, she later found NEW appreciation for it, because she saw it through my eyes.

Although I detest the arrogance of the "you're old and stupid and this is all new to you" attitude, I try to look for the "veins" in it all to see if there's something ELSE there. But I still dislike the arrogance.

You know, I love my country very much, and I had uncles and grandfathers in that war, but I've come unwillingly to the conclusion of many historians that it's not only arrogant to proclaim that America saved Europe's azz from Nazi Germany, it's just incorrect. That war had a lot of combatants and deaths, and the overwhelming majority of them weren't Americans. It's not just PC to say the Allies beat Germany, it's more accurate. Historically, we might have brought it to an end sooner, but by the time we entered the war, Russia had already turned the tide in the east, and by the time we reached Italy, Russia was closing in on Nazi Germany. Had we never entered, Europe would probably be singing the *Russian* anthem today.

But wait, there's more...
I'd be embarrassed if those pathetic idiots voted for me in an ere ... oops ... election.

I remember that wide-eyed/enlightened feeling. I was 10 and hoping Reagan would be re-elected.

You are right, but we were part of it, and I will arrogantly stick by that. Times have changed, and the old allies don't stand together as they once did. Obviously and unfortunately.

But this site still makes me sick. :flush:

There are some valid thoughts regarding the site...I looked through 40+ photos...there are some commonalities:
A) Many show intense hatred, bitterness, & despair.
B) Many assume that the majority of American voters are idiotic & blind
C) There were a number that were punked-out...pierced, tatooed and generally drunk-looking. (None were in uniform????hmmm???)
D) Their handwriting is sloppy and reflects a lack of sophistication and refinement. Rushed?
E) Many could clearly not vote because of age...and likely few pay income tax and the majority are likely relying on tax supported student loans (That the rest of us idiots pay for).

So conclusions...*They ARE "sorry!" (A bunch of wacked out losers)
*They have not participated in our economy, they haven't composed editorials, served in the military, or grasped that the world does not spin around them.
*They are ungrateful, selfish, and arrogant. They should not be apologizing for America...we should be apologizing that our public school system produces such wastrels.
*Should the Republican party reach out and try to welcome & understand their frustration? NO!! They will always be pathetic "world citizens" who hate their heritage, hate traditions, and absorb socialism over capitalism. Let them run to Hillary in '08...she will welcome them into her minions.

You forgot the colorful language in half of them. "I'm so "f-ing" sorry." Yeah you are pretty sorry. This coming from the worlds largest potty mouth. You just don't use vulgarity in an apology. :ohwell:

It adds to the drama of their "apology". Haven't you ever noticed how young drama kings and queens talk? Everything is an enormous deal - they're not sorry, they're "oh so incredibly just effing SORRY!!", said in this dramatic tone that they copied from some Gen-Xer angst movie, then practiced in front of a mirror to get just the right accompanying facial expression.

Well if anyone ever apologized to me like that I'd tell them very dramatically where they could stick that apology.

The thought just struck me...hey Marine...would you care to toss those medals you are so proudly wearing over the fence? Would you like to testify to all the attrocities your fellow marines are currently committing?
NO? Hmmm?
How would you like to serve under a certain weasel who did just that??

Yeah...I thought you'd change your story.
