Did anyone see the bad accident on Route 5 near the entrance of Chestnut Ridge?
I was there today at around 1:30pm and the State Police helicopter was coming in and landed on Route 5. Picked the person up and flew away.
The accident involved a Budget rental box truck. The truck was coming south on Route 5, left the road, clipped a guide wire (on a SMECO pole) and went down a small hill and hit two trees. It was one of those box trucks with a cab in the front. It looked terrible. I hope the person made it.
