Moving Azaleas

Does anyone have guidance (helpful hints for survival) on transplanting an azalea?  I know the best time to prune/trim/shape is as soon as they drop their flowers, but not sure how to transplant.

The best time would be in the fall.  If it is rather large, just be careful when removing, not to damage the roots.  Place in well-drained/rich soil, with some sun/shade. Water well after replanting, and mulch.  Also, in hot/dry weather, water daily.

Thanks Flo, that is what I was thinking, but most plants should be pruned early spring or late fall so with the azalea variance there I thought it couldn't hurt to ask those wiser than I.  Too, I didn't want to miss my chance this year.  Thanks again.
