Subject: FW: Massachusetts Welcome Home Bonus

All:

The State of Massachusetts is offering a $500 welcome-home bonus to all
military members who were on active duty on or after 11 Sep 01 and who
were domiciled in Massachusetts for six months immediately prior to
entry in the Armed Forces. The bonus is $1000 for members who served in
Afghanistan or Iraq.

Active duty service members may accept this bonus. The prohibition
under 18 U.S.C. 209 on officers receiving compensation for their
services from sources other than the U.S. Government excepts
contributions from a State. Also, DoD SOCO has indicated that they do
not consider the welcome-home bonus a gift under 5 C.F.R 2635.203(b)(4).
