Androgynous-Sounding Singers

What singers leave you thinking, "Hey, is that a man or a woman singing that song?" Here's my list. (I looked up their names for my own curiousity.)

1. Grace Slick on Jefferson Airplane's "Somebody to Love"
2. Timothy B. Schmidt on The Eagles' "I Can't Tell You Why"
3. Lyn Paul on the New Seekers' "Georgie Girl"
4. Russell Thompkins Jr. on almost anything by the Stylistics

John Z

if you will
Hey, good list. I can only think of one song off the top of my head:

"Teenage Dirtbag" by Wheatus (circa 2001?). Sounded like a girl singing, but it turned out to be a guy....

What about Four Non-Blondes? (did I even spell it right?)

They were awful! I saw them once on Letterman or Leno and the singer couldn't even stay in key.

Funny thing is... I have never even seen them! Are they guys or girls? I honestly don't know. How sad am I!

OMG! Paul Anka. The singer in The Four Seasons.

Do you mean Frankie Valli? "Walk like a man, walk like a man..." It might help if you sounded like one.

How about Supertramp on The Logical Song? I think Roger Hodgson was the singer.

I don't think she sounds like a man, but sometimes I wonder if Pink used to be a man in her previous life.
