But wait, there's more...
I wish there was something combining the taste of charcoal with the efficiency of gas. :ohwell:

If I want to cook with gas, I'll drag my stove outside....
Charcoal or wood, thats the ticket!

Cooking (and I use the term loosely for some people) with charcoal is a skill. I love charcoal.
I hate burnt food. :barf:
Charcoal or gas, I've seen 5 alarms on some of both.

If you are cooking over an open flame, charcoal, charcoal, charcoal.

How'd you like the beef at our party last year? CHARCOAL!

I went to lunch at my dad's house this afternoon and all the burgers and steaks were well done. :barf: Might as well chew on an old shoe. My grandmother thinks I'm awful, but I like meat cooked about medium. A slight tint of pink but not bleeding.

Since we grill most nights in the summer and a couple times a week in the winter, it's gas hands down for me. Charcoal/wood definitely tastes better - I'm just too lazy to mess with it.

I'm a medium-rare for steaks and a medium well for hamburgers.

I'll stack my steaks...

...or burgers on gas up against coals in a blind taste test and win.

It IS an art.

Vrai, dahling, can I get an "amen"?

I also know somebody who does killer ribs...with an electric smoker.

Suddenly, I am hungry...

I don't believe you. How 'bout you host a taste-testing party and we'll see then. :bubble:

I don't know Larry, you probably visualize Mick Jagger and think it tastes better. :killingme

I gotta side with Hank Hill on this 'un. We use energy-efficient clean-burning propane gas for all our sacred heating and cooking needs.

We have a gas grill but never use it! Us rednecks opt to use our homemade Cinderblock Bar-B-Q built for cooking with charcoal.... True story. :blushing:

The gas grill is fine for steaks and burgers during the week, primarliy because it is a little quicker to set up.

But on the weekends the wood smoker comes out for some great tasting ribs, chicken, brisket or whatever. It may take a little longer, but the end results justify the time spent.

Larry just fussed at me because I didn't give him an "amen".

AMEN!!!

He does make pretty good steaks on the grill. I season them the exact same way but they're always better when he burns them.

Okay, the steaks are excellent but the hamburgers and chicken are always a little underdone for me. "Moist" chicken is disgusting and raw hamburger innards make me :barf:. But the steaks are a winnah!
