Is anyone else experienceing major problems with their dial-up 56k connections with their ISP in the Huntingtown/Dunkirk areas of Calvert county?? It doesn't matter when I connect to my ISP's. I have two local ISP's and whenever I'm logged on with either one, my connection just hangs after about 5 or 10 minutes. I'm sending packets but I never get a response and eventually it times out.
This started about 4 or 5 months ago. Before that it worked fine Albeit at only 26k. I have a foreign exchange Washington line. Not the usual 410 area code.
Every time I call verizon about this problem they say that they do not guarantee modem connection or quality of the line. And its not their problem. Those bastards.
Anyone have any suggestions besides getting a cable modem. I will never deal with those Verizon clowns and get DSL.
