Southern Maryland Ferret specialist vets?

Doing a bit of research before possibly getting a ferret and am wondering if anyone knows of a local vet that specializes in ferrets? The 90% chance of insulinoma and adrenal disease (among other medical issues) necessitates specialized care and I'd like to hear from others if they know of a vet in the tri-county area that can handle the more-than-likely surgeries/tests.

not sure if any vets will do that surgery... but All kinds in Callaway is a great vet for ferrets..

for major issues as you are talking about you will have to look at another vet... we have always refered ferrets to this vet. Pender animal care centers, exotic veterinary practice, pet hospital and pet retreat in Fairfax County Virginia

V C A St. Mary's Animal Hospital might do them. Dr. Jennifer Cabral takes care of my Parrots. I don't know if they take care of Ferrets, but Dr Cabral is the Exotic Animal Vet.301) 862-2441.
