Any ideas on how to keep them away.Every year they build nests under my deck and other areas.I can't stand them and refuse to mow near the deck.I know spray works if you find the nest but is there any deterrent to keep them away?I am always afraid of getting stung.

No. You could also set off a bug smoke bomb and toss it under the deck. Less chance of getting stung that way.

Paint the underside of the deck a light (baby) blue or light mint green.
